Chapter 23 - You Are My Mate

The sun has already set when they left and started to drive back. They were both silent, but it was a comfortable silence with their fingers tangled in between them.

All the reservations and doubts in Belle's mind has already gone out the window by now and Xander could see it in her eyes when he took over Windom earlier.

"I'm taking you back to the pack house. You'll be staying with me from now on." Xander said squeezing Belle's hand. "But of you still want to stay with Kyle—"

"I'd love to stay with you Xander." Belle said to stop Xander from continuing what ever he wanted to say. Xander took a quick glance at Belle and smiled then turned his eyes back to the road.

When they arrived at the pack house almost all of their friends were for them at the door.

Belle looked at Xander confused. "I thought you said they didn't know."

"I sent them a message thru the pack link while we were heading back." Xander said. "They'd be running around looking for you once Kyle finds out that you're gone and I'm missing."

Belle didn't wait for Xander to open the door for her. Once the car has completely stopped and he moved to take of his seat belt she did the same and got out of the car.

She was halfway to them when Maia ran towards her and gave her a hug.

"I'm so happy for you Belle." She said.

"I am too Maia." Belle turned to look at Xander who is talking to both Kyle and Aoi, and she could see the happiness in his eyes while his best friends were teasing him.

"And here I thought I'd have to knock you out of your senses before you see what you're missing." Aoi told Xander.

"I think you all did...in a much harsher way than punching me in the face." Xander said.

"Good!" Aoi said chuckling. "We're your best friends after all."

"Kyle?" Xander said turning to Kyle.

"Yes Alpha?"

"Thank you. For taking care of my mate while I'm...."

"Being stubborn and stupid?"

Xander just chuckled at him in response.

"Well, it's about time you take her off my hands. A bit more and I wouldn't have let her go."

Both Xander and Aoi looked a t him and they could see the seriousness in his eyes.

Kyle extended his hand to Xander and Xander took it. Squeezing it tightly Kyle said.

"You'd better not mess up this time Xander."

Xander looked back at his friend not even blinking once.

"I wouldn't dare."

After hearing that, Kyle finally smiled, making Xander smile back, and then all seriousness between them disappeared and they hugged each other.

"I'm happy for you Xander."

"Me too Kyle."

Everyone was busy preparing to celebrate the fact that their Alpha and their soon to be Luna has finally decided to be together that Belle felt a little overwhelmed. She decided to go outside to get some fresh air once she's sure that Xander is too busy to notice.
