A R E I

"Ha! Ha!"

Iwinasiwas ko ang aking espada sa hangin. Imagining that there is an enemy in front of me. I waste my time in both contemplation, training, and strategies.

Krypteus is being hands-on. A true guardian.

He guides me every single task. Parang si Mom. An attentive person. I love it.

Naghilamos ako at muling nag-ensayo. Kaya lang naiilang ako.

"Krypteus, you don't have to check up on me twenty-four-seven. I know where I'm going and I know what to do."

He stood behind me while I was practicing my swordsmanship, "I was just watching you. Why so defensive?" Hindi naman ako defensive. I swing my sword in his direction. He dodged every attack. "Easy, Arei. I'm not the enemy!"

His expression was priceless, all shocked and baffled. He will always be my number one enemy, but killing will not be involved though. I won't risk it.

"You aren't, but you annoy me." I was enjoying attacking him as a current of water splash right at us. "Don't involve Ifrynth here! Ang daya niyo!"

"No, it isn't." I was about to attack but I slipped in the muddy puddles. Krypteus fasten his pace to catch me in his arms. He used his body as a cushion when we fell on the ground. Instead of hitting the hard ground, his toned body was enough for me to hit my head. "You okay?"

I giggle. "I should be asking you that," I countered. I fixed myself, seated at his lap.

He sat as well holding and rubbing his head. Mukhang masakit pagkahulog niya. "Does it hurt?" I asked him.

"Isn't it obvious?" He asked the wrong person who feels no pain from a little fall. I smirk at him. "Right, Ares's child. A bump in the head is nothing to you." Humagalpak ako ng tawa sa sinabi niya. Ngayon pa niya naisip 'yon.

"It's not funny!" Naiihi na ako sa tawa.

My stomach aches too, I did my best not to laugh hard anymore. "I'm sorry, Krypteus. Didn't mean to make fun of you." Well, it was still fun.

When I stop laughing, his crystal eyes glimmer when I look straight at him.

"Arei, you look gorgeous," he said in a gentle voice.

"What are you—" He cupped my cheeks and leans. The gap between us was only a little air to breathe. Crashing his lips into mine, I savor the moment we have.

Meeting Krypteus beside a peaceful lake like this? Nostalgic. I couldn't believe that I fell for him without any notice. Bihira siyang maging ganito. Malambing at mapagmahal. As far as I could remember, during the days we were together, we bicker and get into each other's throats.

Sadly, we don't have a label. We just... flirt. If it's the correct verb for what is happening between us.

We parted our lips, panting and flabbergasted. "Arei..."

"Kree," I was breathless when someone called him from afar.

"Krypteus!"

It was Requinn.
