Being in Forks was a lot harder than I thought. I couldn't go in town at all, if I left the house it had to be in the woods and I had to make sure no one saw me. Jasper made it a bit easier by being there for me. He took a week off school saying he needed mental health days to cope. Also, the Cullens told Bella I was dead, but they told everyone else we both were attacked and I got kidnapped. Apparently my mom had started search parties for me in the woods so I was no longer allowed out of the house.

"Any updates?" I asked Jasper when he returned from town.

"Nothing."

Edward looked to him with confusion and walked out.

"What happened?"

"Nothing you need to worry about."

"Don't keep things from me, please."

He sat down next to me.

"You have to promise me you won't do anything reckless."

"Promise," I crossed my fingers behind my back just in case.

"Sofie and Joel are in town with your mom."

My eyes widened.

"What? I have to go-"

I looked to Jasper and he looked into my eyes knowingly.

"I can't... I can't go see them."

"I'm sorry darling."

"There's got to be some way."

"There isn't Ophelia."

I slumped back down next to Jasper. He rubbed my shoulder and I figured If I could get away from him, I could tell them I was ok. He moved me to turn to him. I gave him my maddest look and tried to think of things that made me mad.

"Darling."

"I need a moment alone," I stood up and jumped on a tree from the balcony.

I jumped from tree to tree, checking to see if Jasper was following me every once in a while. When I got near my house I focused on it and tried to listen in.

"Have they said anything yet?" Sophie asked.

She sounded as if she had been crying.

"Nothing," Joel.

"I miss her so much," Sophie spoke her voice cracking at the end.

"It's ok, we'll find her."

I had to do something. What if I made a fake social media to say I'm ok and then delete it? I smiled until I felt an arm around my mouth and another around my waist I panicked for a second and roughly jabbed my arm back and turned around. Jasper eyed me down as if he couldn't trust me.

"What are you doing out here? What if someone sees you?"

"I just..."

I stopped, realizing I was just putting them in danger by letting them know I'm alive. It's best if everyone thought I was dead. Jasper looked at me, probably feeling sorry for me. I ran off. I just wanted to see my friends, but I was just being selfish. I stopped when I got to cliff. I sat at the edge and looked at the water. I heard Jasper land somewhere behind me.

"Ophelia, I'm sorry."

I looked at the water. Jasper sat next to me and pulled my hand into his.

"Talk to me."

"I'm sorry. I just... I miss them and it hurts to see them hurt."
