I walked to my room at the end of the day. I walked through the castle and to my tower. Felix wanted to meet me in my room to talk. He'd flirted with me a lot the past month or so. It felt weird, but it was better than nothing. I thought of Jasper a lot, maybe I should just go back and let him explain. I was the one who left him, I felt horrible. Maybe it really wasn't what it seemed to be. Everytime I felt myself doubting my loyalty to Aro I found within seconds it returned. There was no doubt in my mind it was Chelsea, Afton's mate.
She had the ability to control people's relationships and connections. She was most likely trying to make sure I didn't leave. It worked I fell back into the realization he cheated on me while I was gone, we never broke up. I know what I saw. This was my home now. A knock rang from my door and I immediately opened it. Felix smiled to me as I closed the door again.
"How has your evening been so far my darling?"
"I've been ok. Just thinking about Jasper and how I'm never going to return."
"Don't waste your time thinking about the people who treated you poorly. You're royalty now."
"I guess I am."
He held my hand.
"I have a gift for the most beautiful woman I've ever set my eyes on."
I looked to him smiling and he smiled right back. He handed me a one of a kind first edition copy of Pride and Prejudice.
"I know you left your things with the Cullens and you told me you like Jane Austen," he explained.
I quickly pulled him into a hug. The only thing to read around here were tomes and ancient books.
"Thank you, I love it."
I set it on my table and smiled to him.
"I'm glad you like it. I want you to feel at home here. If there's anything you want or need, let me know, I'll get it for you."
He was incredibly kind to me, it was odd. With everyone who came in he was hostile and gruesome, but he was gentle with me. He listened to me and what I liked. I put my hand on his cheek and kissed him. He kissed me back and I smiled into the kiss. I pulled away and he smiled.
"A kiss from you could jump start my heart and bring me alive again," he said.
I kissed him again, smiling at his words and how they made me feel.

Felix and I had been together for a couple months when we were put on a mission together with Jane and Alec to deal with the killings in Seattle. When I found out we were to go that close to forks I was upset. I'd hoped Aro wouldn't make me go. What if one of the Cullens were involved? I don't think I could keep up my act around them, especially not Bella or Alice. I would easily go back with them without Chelsea's hold on me. Maybe if I focused hard enough on Felix I would stay.
Think of how his hand felt on my skin. How his shoulders looming over me made me feel safe and protected. How his position with the Volturi in addition to my gift, would make it nearly impossible for Aro to kill me. He would need a really good reason and even then he'd lose Felix. It felt nice to have him with me. I still thought of Jasper sometimes, but Felix loved me so much. Felix would never hurt me, never leave me. We weren't mates, but he put in the work as though we were.
We had one night before we left, I wanted to spend it reading in Felix's arms. This would hopefully make me forget last minute worries. Switch my mind off the Cullen's and onto one of the many books Felix had gotten for me. I never liked being pampered, but Felix did it in a way that felt more normal for me. A gift every once in a while to show he listened. Of course Jasper got me gifts, but I felt like he just snapped and I had everything. There I go again thinking about him. Felix moved a little to show me he knew I wasn't reading anymore.
"What are you thinking about my love?"
"I'm worried about Seattle."
"The Cullens won't be there. They'd never do something so stupid."
"I know, it just... worries me. I know they shouldn't be there but Seattle is so close to Forks... I won't have Chelsea... but I'll have you."
I looked up to him.
"You'll have me," he said holding my hand and kissing it gently just like he did.
I nodded and went back to my book.

We stood on a building in Seattle overlooking an alley full of newborn vampires. I didn't know much about newborns other than how it felt to be one. Felix explained why we're our most powerful while a newborn. It made sense, the blood lingering in your tissue making you super strong with an incredible sense. I watched a girl sit looking scared watching other vampires tear up the street. We'd been monitoring the situation, but Jane had been letting it go on.
"It's getting too out of hand Jane, we should do something," I commented.
Suddenly my body filled with pain again, I started getting used to it. Felix held onto my arm to keep me up. Jane hated me because I could render her power useless. I looked to her and thought of the bugs. She looked to her arms and looked away hesitantly. I clouded her mind with the bugs and the pain subsided. Alec stepped forward and I did the same to him. Jane was on the ground scratching her arms and I smiled. Jane and Alec may be Aro's prize kids, but it wouldn't stop me from putting them in their place. Felix smiled and Alec was on the ground as well.
"Enough!" Jane yelled out.
I looked away from them and they stood and dusted themselves off.
"We'll give the leader an ultimatum. He's in his hide out now."
I nodded and we went to the abandoned house he was hiding out in. Riley stood up seeing us.
