While I was reading I was so submersed in the book that I didn't notice Jasper's movie ending. I looked over when he stood from the couch. He walked over to me, picked me up bridal style, sat down and sat me down on his lap perpendicular to him. I looked at him and smiled.
"Are you done being grumpy?" I asked.
He nodded and I chuckled and looked back to my book. He buried his nose in my collarbone.
"I was only upset because I don't trust them."
"I know, but it's not about you trusting them, it's about you trusting me."
He nodded and I sat my book down. I grabbed his face and pointed it at me.
"I love you, and nothing's going to happen to me. I'm stronger than them, and I'm smarter."
He smiled.
"I love you too, and I agree with all of those things and more."
I smiled and leaned forward for a kiss. He didn't meet my lips and I opened my eyes confused. He sat there smirking. I moved my hands to his neck and pushed his lips to mine. I deepened the kiss by leaning forward more. This kiss was different, it was hungry. He trailed down my jaw and to my collarbone. He kissed my chest and looked up to me. Asking permission to continue.
"Everyone in the house will hear us," I whispered so only he could hear.
He pouted a little, but made his way back to my lips.

It had been a week since we'd moved to Alaska. I'd be starting school today with Jasper and the family. I went out in the morning, alone, to hunt before going. I was nervous to be around so many alive people. I switched my focus on the river that divided the lands between wolf and vampire. I jumped up into a tree to get a birds eye view. I looked down and about half a mile away a bear stood. I jumped to the ground and started running towards it. It noticed me and ran into the river. I debated jumping into it, but didn't. I stood watching the bear stand on the other side of the river. He was taunting me somehow. Suddenly a wolf jumped out of the trees watching me. The bear saw it and ran back to our side. I tackled it and snapped it's neck. I drank from it and laid it down on the ground. I looked at the wolf and turned to wipe the blood.
I turned back and someone I hadn't met stood in his human form.
"I'm Dakota, Luka's older brother. Son of the chief."
"I'm Ophelia, the newest Cullen."
"Why'd you do it? Become one of them I mean."
"I didn't have a choice. I was attacked and bitten by another vampire, they couldn't save me in time. Carlisle took me in and I fell in love with Jasper."
"All of you will be attending the high school?"
I nodded.
"You'll see most of us there, except for me. We won't tell anyone of course."
"Thank you, for helping me with the bear and for being so kind to us."
"We understand not everything can be dealt with hate. Wesley doesn't on the other hand. If he bothers you, let me or Luka know."
"Why do you guys hate us so much? Besides us being monsters and everything."
"It's in our blood. Our ancestors wolf magic was only brought out because your kind had attacked us."
"And Wesley just has it bad?"
He shook his head.
"Wesley's friend was killed by one of your kind."
"I'm sorry. There are a lot of bad vampires. I've definitely had my share."
He nodded. Jasper ran up next to me and I felt him tense up seeing Dakota.
"Jasper, this is Dakota, the chief's eldest son."
He nodded to Dakota and he nodded back.
"We've got to go before we're late," he said only loud enough for me.
"I'll see you around," I said to Dakota
I ran off with Jasper behind me. We stopped at the house and he looked angry.
"Why we're you talking to him?"
"He's nice. He scared a bear over on our side for me. He was just explaining that we'll see some of the tribe members at school."
"You shouldn't trust them."
"Jasper, I don't why you're acting like this. They've been kind to us despite all the horrible vampires they've met."
I stormed off and got into Alice's car. Alice quickly got in and smiled when she saw me.
"You're riding with me?"
I nodded.
"Jasper's mad I was talking with a wolf."
"Well... they're not very good company Ophelia."
"What is it with you guys and hating wolves. They've been nice to us despite what's happened to them."
She stayed silent.
"I guess it's just the way it's always been. Try not to be too mad at Jasper. We've only ever met wolves who hate us and have terrible tempers."
"It's because they only became wolves because a vampire attacked them. Dakota explained it. Their wolf magic only started when they were attacked by a vampire. Vampires made them monsters, I wouldn't expect any other reaction from them."
"I didn't know. I'm sorry."
"It's ok, I'm just asking for you guys to be a bit more understanding. They're being nice to us, we should be nice to them."
We arrived at the school and I saw Jasper's car whip in beside Alice's. I got out knowing he wanted to talk. I got into his car and he looked to me.
"Will you let me explain now without blowing up on me?"
He nodded.
"The only reason the wolves have been rude to any of you in the past is because there wolf blood only came out when they were attacked by vampires. Meaning vampires turned them into the monsters. That's why wolves hate us, but these ones have chosen to be nice to us. I'm not getting ignored or yelled at anymore for being nice to them."
"I'm sorry. I've only known them to be trouble. I'm just worried for you, I know that's not an excuse. I'm sorry for getting mad and not letting you explain."
I pulled him into a kiss and he kissed me softly. I pulled away.
"Ok let's get inside that incredibly boring school."
He nodded and we got out of his car. Everyone who normally went to the school stared at us. The bell rang and we all went in together. We went to the office and the lady smiled at us all.
