As the car pulled into the driveway, I noticed a car already there. A man walked out of our house with a 6 pack of beer and a smile on his face.

"Who's he?"

"His name is Charlie Swan, he helped with making sure everything was prepped for us."

I sighed and the car turned off.

"Be nice," my mom warned.

I nodded and got out.

"Hello Camilla, and you must be Ophelia."

He held his hand out for me to shake. My gloved hands sat by my sides. I didn't like people touching me. He awkwardly moved his hand to my mom. She gladly shook it and smiled.

"Thank you so much for making sure everything was ready for us. I can't thank you enough."

"No problem, my daughter recently moved in with me, I'm sure you two will be friends," he said happily.

"I'm sure you'll meet her at school tomorrow," my mom said.

"I brought some beer if you'd like to drink and talk about the house a bit."

"Sure. We'll grab the boxes really quick and then we can get set up."

He nodded and set the six pack down.

After unloading the boxes from our car, Charlie and my mom sat in the living room and drank and talked while I went upstairs to unpack. I had four boxes, two for clothes, one for decorations, and one for books. I unloaded the books onto my shelf. My copy of Pride and Prejudice lingered in my hand as I made sure it didn't get damaged from the rain outside. Jane Austen was my favorite author, which sounded so romantic teen bookworm esq, but I truly love Historical Romance books, and that's all she wrote. I also had the fifty shades trilogy, but we don't need to talk about that. Fifty shades of Gray was fifty shades of fucked up in multiple ways, but it was my guilty pleasure. It had good writing, can you blame me? The romance in the story set my heart on fire.

When I finished unloading my books, I moved to the clothes. I started unloading the clothes that would go in my dresser and when I was finished hung up my shirts and dresses. I only had a few dresses since I wasn't much of a frilly girl, but I did like to dress up sometimes. When I was done I started hanging up my Christmas lights and pictures. I had a collage of my pictures with friends that I hung up over my bed. The collage took a lot of glue, but it turned out really nice. My friends made it for me when I told them I was moving. I suddenly remembered I was supposed to call Sofie and Joel. I quickly called both of them on face time. Joel immediately answered and greeted me.

"Ophelia! How is it? Is your room nice? Have you met anyone yet? Is it raining?"

"It's okay, I'd rather be home still though. I miss you. My room is big, look, I hung up the collage you and Sofie made for me. It looks great!"

Sofie joined the call and greeted us.

"I miss you guys already," I pouted.

"We miss you too, when are you coming back to visit?"

"Hopefully spring break. I'm gonna need nana's cookies."

"I'm sure she'll make you take a truck load home," Joel said.

"I still can't believe you're in Forks. It sounds so boring!" Sofie whined.

"Yeah, so far it is. This guy named Charlie was here to make sure everything was set up."

"Is he cute?" Sofie asked.

I fake gagged myself.

"He's in like his forties, gross. I don't know, but he seems like he really wants to get close with my mom. I don't like it. He's got a daughter who apparently is also new."

"Is she cute?" Joel asked.

"Guys! Why does it matter, I haven't even met her."

"Ophelia, we just want you to get into a good relationship, Tristan was horrible and unattractive."

"Can we not talk about he who shall not be named?" I said.

"Sorry, he who shall not be named is gross and treated you like shit. Anybody who wants to get with you better be so attractive and kind or I'll come over there and knock the shit out of them."

"Ok Joel, calm down, I don't even want to be in a relationship for now."

A knock at my door distracted me from my phone call.

"I'm on the phone."

My door cracked open.

"It's me, it's getting late, don't forget you have school in the morning."

"Who's taking me?"

"You can take the car, Charlie is going to take me to get a new car tomorrow morning."

"So I get Ulysses?"

"Yup."

"Nice!" Sofie yelled.

I laughed and my mom did too.

"I want you off the phone within the next hour."

Sofie and Joel booed in sync.

"I know, I know, but I want to make sure you get enough sleep tonight. Love you guys! Love you goodnight."

"Love you, night," Joel and Sofie said in sync again.

"Goodnight mom."

She left and closed my door.

"My bedtime is approaching fast," Sofie said.

"You have a bedtime now?"

"Yeah, I stayed up until 3am last night and woke up late. My mom had to drive me and was pissed. She was late for work so she's turning off the wifi at 11."

"Okay, I better go to sleep then. I love and miss you guys," I said.

"Love you night."

"Love you lots goodnight."

I hung up and plugged in my phone. I turned off my lights and laid down.

-

I woke up to my alarm. I turned over and turned it off. I went downstairs and saw my mom cooking breakfast.

"I'm making pancakes for your first day."

"Mmm chocolate chip?"

"Yup."

"Thank you."

She nodded and I went back upstairs to get dressed. I threw on a yellow long sleeve shirt, and a red and white flower maxi skirt. I tucked in the shirt and put on a red pair of gloves. The gloves watched the skirt. I figured it would be a good outfit for my first day. I started getting nervous about if I liked the outfit and itched my hands.

"Pancakes are done!" My mom yelled from downstairs.

I quickly went downstairs and sat and ate. When I was done I thanked my mom and went upstairs to get my bag ready.
