I hovered over my laptop debating on if I wanted to do this or not. Jasper sat with his arm around my shoulder watching me.

"If you do this it'll give them piece of mind," he spoke softly.

"But they'd hate me for not reaching out earlier. There's also the possibility they tell my mom."

"The decision is yours Ophelia."

I nodded. I sent a friend request to Sophie on an account I made just then. Within minutes it was accepted. I opened the dms between me and her.

"Sophie Im sorry for not already reaching out. I'm ok, but don't tell my mom I'm contacting you. I ran away to better myself. I love you, but I can't come home or let anybody know where I am. I am ok though please take care of yourself and Joel for me," I quickly typed out.

She tried video calling me and I panicked. Jasper quickly moved out of my camera's view and I backed myself into a corner so they couldn't see anything. I brought the phone close to my face and answered.

"Ophelia?" Sophie asked.

"Sophie, I'm so sorry."

"I thought you were dead, why didn't you reach out sooner?"

"I was scared. I figured you'd hate me. I'm ok, I'm renting out an apartment under a fake identity. Please don't tell anyone besides Joel. No one can know. I'm just... trying to work on things by myself. My condition and everything."

"Fifi please come home so we can talk. Your mom is worried sick."

"Please Sophie, I can't. Things are... different ok. I just wanted to let you know I'm not dead in a ditch somewhere."

"Oh, I trust you. Stay safe ok?"

"I will. Love you Sophie."

"Love you Ophelia."

I hung up and sunk down. I felt so bad lying to her. Jasper came over to me and pulled me closer to him.

"She knows you're ok, that's what you wanted. It's better than her mourning you."

I nodded.

"She'll be ok and so will Joel."

"Don't worry after a couple hundred years everyone you know will be dead."

I glared at him.

"That doesn't help."

"Sorry."

I kissed his cheek and he smiled.

"It's ok."

"So we haven't had time to find your gift yet."

"Gift?"

"Most vampires have something, a gift, that is unique to their personality."

"So what do you think it could be?"

"Not sure, we can try and find out though."

"Do you think it could have something to do with Morgellons Disease?"

"Possibly, you saw visions, maybe you can make people see things."

"How would I do that."

"Just try to think about what you want me to see."

I thought about how the bugs would crawl under my skin and looked up to see Jasper. He suddenly looked down at his arms and went wide eyed.

"I can see them."

He slapped his arm and I felt uncomfortable watching him watch his arms. I shook my head and looked away. I stood up quickly.

"I don't want to make people go through what I did."

"It's ok Ophelia. It could be useful for enemies."

"No, I know how it feels to be overwhelmed by it. I suffered through it for 18 years. I won't."

He stood up and hugged me.

"It's ok, you don't have to."

I nodded and hugged him back. I thought about the bugs and how much they made me suffer. Alice walked into the room and I looked up to see her. Suddenly she looked down at her arms in fear. I shook my head and turned around. How did I make it stop. Stop thinking about the bugs. I closed my eyes and tried not to think about them.

"Ophelia it's ok. Alice is ok," Jasper spoke grabbing my hands.

"I'm sorry Alice."

"It's ok, I'm fine. Are you?"

I opened my eyes and look to her.

"I'm fine."

"I was just coming to say Sophie called looking for Jasper. I'm not sure how she got the home phone, but she did."

"It was probably my mom," I spoke.

"Ok, well she's waiting on the line," Alice spoke.

"Do you think she's going to tell you?"

"I don't know why else she'd call."

We both went to the phone and he picked it up.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Jasper, don't tell anyone, not even Joel, but Ophelia called me."

"She called you?"

"She's ok, she's working out stuff on her own. You were right I guess she felt trapped. She told me she's doing fine, but isn't coming back. I figured I should let you know."

"Thank you."

"It's no problem."

The phone was silent for a moment and I could tell Jasper felt awkward.

"Ok, well have a goo-"

"Do you want to hang out tomorrow? I've got nothing to do. I leave on Monday to go back."

"Uhm..."

He looked to me and I shrugged.

"Sorry, I just... we both loved her and I wanted to talk to you about her."

"You loved her?"

"Platonically I mean."

"Ah, uh yeah sure."

"Ok cool, just text this number that I'm calling from. Bye!"

I heard a click. I looked at him.

"She just misses me, thank you for trying to make her feel better."

He wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Anything for you."

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his shoulders. I squeezed and he coughed a little.

"Careful, remember you're still stronger than me."

I let go a little.

"I just want to be close to you, as close as possible, all the time."

"The feeling is mutual."

I heard someone walk in the room.

"Hey lovebirds can you get a room?" Emmet joked.

"We're just hugging, himbo."

"Ok sassy, doesn't mean I wanna witness."

I stuck my middle finger up at him jokingly.

"You wish sister."

"Not in a million years," I laughed.

"How have you guys not caused an Earth quake yet?"

"Just because you and Rosalie went at it for months doesn't mean that's the normal thing," Jasper smiled.

"Huh?"

"Vampire sex, it's the best thing on earth," Emmet said walking out of the kitchen.

I tensed up. I'd never thought about it, that's a lie I definitely did, just could never bring myself to do anything.
