Part 30

Benja said, "Nurses...Raya has apparently lost some of her memory..."

Raya was still aggressive as she got up and said, "I'm fine! Where is that binturi?!"

Benja held her and said, "Hey, relax.."

He turned to the nurses and said, "Sedate her...she's not calming down."

They did as commanded by Benja and after a few minutes, she fell asleep on the bed. Layla entered and said, "Namaari told me what happened... We have plant mixtures that will help her. Is she sedated?"

"Yes, but how exactly did all this happen?" asked Benja looking puzzled.

"She was slightly unconscious earlier when she was defeated in the challenge but Namaari said she was sleeping before she started acting like this." explained Layla.

"Then when she was in that sleeping state must have been when she lost her memory. Before we treat her we have to know exactly what induced this and if she experienced anything out of the norm...." said one of the nurses.

"Layla, get Namaari." said Benja.

Layla went to Namaari and said, "Princess Namaari, Chief Benja is asking for you."

"I-I don't wanna go in there."

"She's sedated...you don't have to worry,"

Namaari sighed then got up and went to the infirmary.

"Hello Namaari, can you recall Raya acting strange before she fell asleep?"

"Um she just said she was feeling confused and her head was aching..."

"Okay. We have the right medicine that will help her. But she needs to rest...for the night, we'll keep an eye on her and we hope for the best. But I'm highly confident that she'll be back to normal." said Layla. "You can stay with us Namaari..."

"No...I-I don't want to... I'm...gonna go for a walk." said Namaari as she slowly left.

The nurses treated Raya, in hopes that she'll be back to normal the next morning.

When Namaari went outside, it was lightly raining and Sisu, Pranee and Jagan were flying around. Sisu saw her and flew down to her and said, "So...are things any better? Why do you look so sad?"

"Good and horrible." said Namaari 

"What happened?"

"I spoke with my mother earlier and she apologized for her rage and is willing to try and accept Raya and I but Raya..." Namaari started tearing up.

Sisu's jovial expression softened and she said, "What happened Namaari?"

"She lost some of her memory...especially our memories...with me...as her girlfriend...she only remembers me as her enemy and got very aggressive..."

"Oh no..."

"But they've sedated her and she's under treatment."

Sisu embraced Namaari and the affection made her even more emotional. Sisu's warm, soft, fluffy embrace was enough to make anyone feel vulnerable.

"She's going to be okay Namaari. And if that doesn't work, I've got my drag-gang here for you. Raya is going to be okay. In the meantime, let's have a night out. Cheer uppp and let's have some fun."

Namaari smiled and said, "Okay."

She felt great to be around the creatures she has always been fond of. 

"Let me take you for a fly around Kumandra." said Sisu.

"Wai-wait... FLYING?"

"Yeah as in...you know...high altitude, elevation...flying."

"No I mean...I've never actually done that and it's frightening to think about."

Sisu laughed and said, "There's a first time for everything. Just calm down. I'll hold you firmly."

Namaari took a deep breath as she gathered the courage to allow Sisu to take her flying.

"You're gonna enjoy this." said Sisu as Namaari held onto her.

"Y-yeah" said Namaari nervously as Sisu got ready to fly off. At first, she was lightly gasping then she got comfortable as Sisu started going faster and higher.

"W-Wow" expressed Namaari in awe as they flew over Kumandra in the night sky. The air was slightly chilly but Namaari enjoyed every bit of it.

"Kumandra is so...beautiful! I could stay up here for ages."

"I told you you'd enjoy it." said Sisu.

"It's so amazing."

"Definitely. And you are the future of this beautiful land Namaari. And you will rule with Raya by your side. And you will all do exceptionally great. You've time and time again proven how amazing you are with skills so powerful. You are a very considerate, amazing and beautiful princess and there would be no better option for Kumandra."

Namaari smiled and she said, "Sisu...thank you so much...you have no idea of how much your belief in me means to me."

"I'm happy I make you feel that way. You look a lil tired. Let's head back to Heart. And I want you to be brave and go and check on Raya." said Sisu.

"Okay I will." 

After landing, Namaari bravely went to the infirmary and gently knocked. Chief Benja opened the door and said, "It's good to see you Namaari."

"You too Chief, how's Raya?"

"Still sleeping but she received the different doses of medicine. By tomorrow, she should be okay."

"I really hope so...I'm gonna be out with Sisu and the other dragons."

"Delightful. You can always return when you feel to." said Benja.

"Thank you."

Namaari went back to Sisu and said, "She has been treated but still sleeping."

"Okay. She's gonna be fine. For now, my brothers and sisters are inviting you to our camp night in the garden. We're gonna tell scary stories, eat, sing, eat! It's gonna be fun."

"Ouu thanks but...I'll stick out like a sore thumb...being the only human." said Namaari while tucking her hair behind her ear.

Sisu transformed to human and said teasingly, "So what were you saying?"

Namaari slightly laughed and said, "Alrighty let's go."

Namaari had a great time with the dragons but occasionally, her heart palpitated as she thought about Raya. After a while of storytelling and eating, she dosed off. She was sitting against Pranee in her dragon form. When Pranee realized she was sleeping, she said softly, "Shh...Namaari is sleeping."

"We all want to." said Jagan softly.

"Yup. Good night." said Amba.

It was so nice of the dragons to cheer up Namaari and distract her from the negative thoughts of Raya not remembering who she was. Don't forget to leave a vote <3
