Part 35

"How are you feeling Raya?" asked Virana as she smiled at Raya.

"I'm great thanks" said Raya returning the smile.

"Alright so...I never got to fully address you but I'm quite sure Namaari told you that I accept you both." explained Virana as she and the girls sat down. "So...you both are at the age when you're expected to have a partner and you have each other. But that may be a problem to the other lands of Kumandra since you're of the same gender.

"Yeah... I know..." said Raya as she held her head down.

"But don't worry. The plan I've structured in my mind is that we can let the other chiefs be aware of it first instead of risking a big event with everyone then they don't agree and it results in conflicts."

"I think that's a good strategy," said Raya, "But Tail doesn't have a chief..."

"Wait really? Wasn't she stone?" asked Virana in slight surprise.

"No she was killed by her own traps. We saw her skeleton there with the plant traps entangled around her." explained Raya.

"Wow...But...them not having a chief won't really affect what we'll do. We'll just send a warrior to deliver the message." said Virana.

"Okay."

"So are you both ready to face this in the near future?" asked Virana.

Raya let out a quick sigh then nervously said, "Y-yeah..."

"I mean it's a big step for us mother but...if it's to be done, it's to be done." Said Namaari.

"Okay dearest. But if you genuinely don't feel comfortable, let me know...I don't want to let you feel forced." said Virana as she placed her hand on Namaari's shoulder.

Namaari nodded while smiling at her mother and said, "So... that's it?"

"Yeah for right now. You too go and enjoy the day now. If there's anything important I'll let you know."

The girls got up and went back to the dragons. By that time, Pengu and Amba were up. Sisu, Pranee and Jagan filled them in on what had happened. 

"Look at who's back! My favourite lovebirds!" expressed Sisu in awe.

Raya laughed and said, "H-hey guys."

"So what did she say?" asked Pranee with interest dominating her eyes.

"Well... basically how we're gonna come out to the rest of Kumandra as a couple and we were talking about the best strategy since not everyone will accept us as...bi."

"I don't think it should be much of a concern to anyone. You should be at liberty to do whatever you want in your personal life." stated Pengu.

"I agree. But did you decide on the best strategy?" asked Amba.

"Yeah we're planning to let the chiefs of the other lands be notified beforehand." said Namaari.

"Oh that is actually good. As of now, you both don't have to worry yourselves. Enjoy the day. It's so beautiful."

"Let's go for a swim!" said Sisu.

Namaari wasn't the one who loved swimming much. "I-I'll just stay out of the water. Swimming isn't really much of my thing."

"Oh please! We're gonna ensure you enjoy it dep la." said Raya.

"Yeah. Plus it's quite warm. We can have a picnic next to the river then hop in for a swim." said Pranee.

"Fineee I'll be at the picnic but...not in the mood for swimming." said Namaari with a sigh.

Raya held her hand and said, "Whyyy? Water cures any sadness."
