Namaari fought back the tears as she held Raya's hand tighter.
"What could possibly be so...mentally impactful Namaari?" asked Virana with remorse in her voice.
"Mother...you...you know how much of enemies Raya and I were...and the trust we had to show for each other to save everyone..."
"Mhmm" replied Virana.
"Since we have reunited as Kumandra, I've been around her so much more. The friendship that we shared as kids returned...but it blossomed into something more than just a friendship..."
Namaari wiped her tears and Virana's face got more serious as she said, "And what is that 'something' Namaari?"
"Raya and I are...a couple."
Chief Virana sighed as she fiercely stared at both princesses. Raya was on the verge of tears.
"Chief Benja, this is the reason that you called me all the way from my home? And you mean to tell me that you have accepted such attitude from who should be the leaders of tomorrow?" expressed Virana as her rage intensified.
"Chief, please calm down. I know it is hard to believe. I once was in your state of mind. But our beautiful daughters are adults and yes they are the future of tomorrow and they saved the world just several months ago. There is no officiated law that goes against them being together." explained Benja.
"I am the ruler of Fang and am at liberty to order my daughter to act upon what I say. And right now, Namaari, I enforce that you break away from this courtship with Raya and I expect you home at dawn. Do not try to change my mind or I'll make things worse for you! Such disgrace and Benja...you accept this? This is unbelievable!" expressed Virana as she stormed away.
Both girls were in extreme shock and feeling hurt. Namaari was hurt and upset and she said in an aggressive tone, "Mother!"
Virana turned to look at her and Namaari said, "You will NOT keep me from being with her!"
"Child, do not make me make you regret confronting me!"
Chief Benja realized how tense things began to get and he pulled Namaari away and said, "Hey...calm down...things will be okay...Don't get her more upset."
The entire time, Sisu was eavesdropping. Virana was preparing to head back to Fang when Sisu approached her in human form and said said, "Hello Virana, may I have a word?"
"What do you want?" Asked Virana in anger.
"I need to talk to you."
Virana calmed down and Sisu transformed back to a dragon and said, "I'm not speaking as a friend of Namaari and Raya. I'm speaking as Sisu...what they have done...is nothing wrong."
"Females were not made to love each other, Sisudatu. It's just not right. Love was meant to be between a man and a woman." said Virana. Now that she got calm, she felt bad about yelling at Namaari earlier. She had never yelled at her in such rage.
"I can see why you might think that but love has no boundaries. I know it's not something we see everyday but that should not make your daughter any less of herself. She is human too and she has feelings."
"Sisu, I didn't raise a homosexual." said Virana
"Namaari is 18 years old. She's an adult and is responsible for the decisions she wants to make but she didn't make a wrong decision" explained Sisu.
"She needs a husband...not a wife...It's tradition." said Virana.
"If you were always going by tradition, we wouldn't be Kumandra. The tradition was each land being against each other but those two girls went out their way to trust each other, banish the Druun and saved the world. Tradition isn't always the best route...And if you could see what I see...the love they share for each other, you'd understand." said Sisu.
"I'm still heading out from here. I cannot stay in this environment and feel comfortable knowing that this is happening with my daughter."
"But look at how happy your people are, interacting with Heart. It's been such a happy day and in battle, your daughter made you proud. And in that moment, she was still Raya's girlfriend but represented you. Their relationship is their personal life..."
Virana sighed and said, "I just cannot accept this Sisu. I am sorry."
Chief Benja was approaching her, wanting to join the conversation to get Virana to see from a different point of view.
Meanwhile, Raya was just crying in Namaari's arms. Namaari was able to hold back her emotions and she ran her fingers through Raya's hair and tried calming her down. Raya gradually got calmer. Namaari wiped her tears and said, "Don't worry dep la."
"B-but look at wh-what just happened."
"Don't be concerned about that. Before we came here, I promised to never leave your side...and that promise will not be broken. I know it's hard...but calm down...I will see to it that things work out for us."
She stared Raya in the eyes and caressed her cheek.
"I love you" whispered Namaari as she smiled at Raya.
Those words warmed Raya's heart and she said, "I love you more."
"Let's go dep la. You need to rest." said Namaari as she got up.
"And I have things to make things right" thought Namaari aggressively
