Part 26

Chief Benja sat next to her and said, "Raya, yes you lost this fight but that doesn't make you any less of who we know you as. You're still the strong, courageous, kind, beautiful princess of Heart."

Raya sighed and said, "Thanks Ba. Um...where is Namaari anyway?" 

"I think she's with chief Virana. Speaking of, when do you both wanna talk to her and...confess?" 

"Is now a bad time?" asked Raya

"We'll have to ask Namaari. I'll get her. In the meantime, you need some food." said Benja.

"I'm not hungry...I'll probably just munch on some mangosteens and lychees later..."

"Hmm alright dew drop." said Benja as he departed.

Raya put a hand on her jaw and Pranee said, "Cheer up princess."

"Yeah on the bright side, Namaari is stronger than you but she's your knight in shining armor and you're her damsel in distress!" teased Sisu.

Raya slightly laughed and said, "Yeah you're right...I shouldn't be so sulky. Besides, we're toge-"

Pranee interrupted by clearing her throat then motioned to Raya that Chief Virana was approaching with Namaari.

"Hello, ma'am..." said Raya as she bowed to the Fang chief.

"Hello dear, just want to say that you did great earlier."

"Thank you." replied Raya with a smile.

"Also, I heard that you'd like to talk to me about a matter...since it's so beautiful out here, how about we return after dinner and have that conversation?" asked Virana.

"Yeah sure, that can work." said Raya...her heart now palpitating as her breathing rate increased. She glanced at Namaari then looked away.

"Splendid, we can come back here after dinner." said the Chief as she departed with Namaari. Namaari stared Raya in the eyes for a few seconds before leaving. She longed to hold her in her arms but knew that she couldn't in that moment.

After they left, Raya sighed and said, "I'm going to take a shower. I'm quiet sweaty."

"Alrighty we'll be here." said Sisu.

Raya went to her room to shower and get ready to have dinner. At first she wasn't hungry but thought it'd be best to have something. She was still bruised from the challenge and was slightly in pain and a warm bath was perfect for soothing her.

Meanwhile, Namaari had already showered and was in the room Benja designated to her earlier that day. She sat on a chair and chief Virana said, "Is everything alright dear?"

"Y-yes mother." 

"I know it's not. Plus you have something to talk to me about...wanna give me a heads up?"

Namaari sighed, wondering if she should tell her mother what's been going on or not but ultimately decided to not say anything just yet.

"I'll tell you soon mother."

"By chance, is it the reason you were in such a depressive mood a few days ago? Before you left for here?"

"Um...yes" replied Namaari as she ran her fingers through her hair.

"Hmm alright mist. Well, finish getting ready for dinner. In about...10 minutes or so." said Virana as she exited.

Namaari felt so burdened as the time went by. She knew in her heart that things could take a turn for the worst if her mother objects but then she remembered all the people that are supportive of her being with Raya, including Chief Benja. She felt more confident and then went out, to the dinner table. Layla was there and she sat beside Namaari and said, "Hello princess, how are you?"

"I'm okay, thanks. How about you?"

"I'm great. Congratulations by the way. You did awesome earlier."

"Thanks Layla."

"So um...I never actually directly told you but I know what's up between you and Raya. I already spoke with her and I'm in full support of you." explained Layla.

Namaari smiled at her and said, "Thank you a lot. After dinner, Raya and I are gonna confess to my mother and I doubt she'll be supportive."

"Don't worry. Plus you're an adult. She shouldn't control that aspect of your life." 

"I know but...all my life, she's all I had there for me and I don't want to be on bad terms with her because of this situation." said Namaari.

"I understand but if she really loves you, she will respect your decision for your life." said Layla

Raya finished having a bath and getting dressed and she did her hair in a messy bun that made her look extra gorgeous. She went back to the garden but Sisu and Pranee weren't there. She shoved her shoulders and turned back to go to the dining room. While going up the stairs, the two dragons jumped out at her, frightening her.

"Do you wanna give me a heart attack?!" shouted Raya as she held her chest.

"S-sorry" said Sisu as she and Pranee laughed. "We just thought it'd be funny to pull a scare. So where you heading to now?"

"It's dinner time...THENNNN we're gonna confess to Chief Virana. The garden will be ideal to speak with her."

"Ouuu I have an idea!" said Pranee. "Sisu and I will set the garden perfectly for you. Add petals, decorate the chairs, have fruit snacks! Oh yes!"

"That'll be so fun!" said Sisu.

"But...aren't you coming for dinner?" asked Raya.

"We already ate earlier so we're not hungry." Said Sisu.

"Yeah...Go and talk with Namaari. Also, your hair makes you gorgeous. Go now and blow her away with your beauty" said Pranee.

Raya blushed and then said goodbye to the dragons then went to the dining table. When Layla saw her, she motioned her to go to her then got up to give her the seat she was in beside Namaari.

"Hey Layla, hey Namaari." said Raya while blushing.

"Hello princess. I'll leave you with Namaari. I have business to attend to." said Layla as she winked at her and departed.

Raya sat and blushed as Namaari held her hand and said, "Wow you look so much more beautiful dep la."

Virana coincidentally looked in their direction and squinted her eyes to ensure she was seeing that correctly and he eyes weren't deceiving her.
