6 Wait and see

Any minute now was the time. My nervousness was already so bad that I couldn't stop tugging at the hem of my shirt. Part of me couldn't wait to see him, but another part of me still wasn't sure what the hell I was doing. Many different scenarios bounced back and forth in my head like a ping pong ball.

Then finally the wait came to an end. The music of the Undisputed Era began and the two men made their way to the ring. My eyes were immediately on Kyle and I couldn't help but chuckle. His air guitar performance was just adorable.

As they climbed onto the ring ropes and posted, my eyes remained firmly on him. But just as Kyle was about to jump off the ropes again, his eyes landed on me. He stumbled a little, but I couldn't help but smile. But nothing came from him. He just turned to Bobby and the two of them talked.

"You see, BF/N. I told you that it was just a coincidence that doesn't meant anything. I hope now you'll stop teasing me about it," I said to BF/N. Somehow I was disappointed.

"Wait and see, sweetie." she grinned. Suddenly, the audience around us got louder.

"What do you mean by 'wait and see'?", I asked her. But before she could answer, something happened that almost made my heart stop.

"Hi!" I heard someone say in front of me. Slowly I turned my head and there he stood. Right in front of me. No mistake possible. I felt the heat rise to my face and hoped he didn't notice that.

"Oh... um... Hi!" I almost stuttered.

"May I ask what your name is?" he asked politely. His gaze literally pierced me.

"I'm Y/N L/N." I replied. I had no idea what was going on. Was I asleep? Was this just another dream?

"Hi Y/N. It's nice to meet you. As you may know, my name is Kyle O'Reilly. I know that's probably really weird now, and maybe creepy. And it's totally okay if you say no. But I'd still like to ask if you'd like to go out with me sometime?" he asked me.

I just couldn't stop the smile. I didn't know why, but he had an incredible effect on me. Seeing his face and eyes so close didn't help at all.

"Wow... Um... Are you sure?" I finally asked. I desperately hoped Kyle didn't realize how dumbstruck I actually was at that moment.

"One hundred percent. I haven't been able to get you out of my head since I first saw you in the audience." he replied, still not letting me out of his sight.

"Well, yeah. I'd love to go out with you, Kyle." was the only answer I could bring myself to give.

"Thank you, Y/N. I'll have a security person take you to the back later, if you don't mind. Then we can talk details. But now, please excuse me. I have a championship to win." he said, grinning.

In a sudden rush of bravery, I raised my hand and motioned for him to come closer to me. Without another thought, I leaned forward.

"Go get 'em, champ!" I said, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

He looked a little shocked but pleased at the same time. Kyle took a step back and then unexpectedly pulled his shirt over his head. Don't stare at him, Y/N! Don't stare, don't stare, I told myself repeatedly in my head, but to no avail. He then placed it in my hand and climbed back into the ring.

Sneakily I lifted the shirt to my face and sniffed it briefly. It smelled divine.

But when I heard BF/N clear her throat, it immediately brought me back to the present.

"So, Y/N... do you still want to tell me that you weren't meant?" asked BF/N laughing.

"Well... well I guess I was," I muttered.

"Oh my god, this is so exciting. Isn't this exciting?" she asked shrieking and bouncing up and down slightly.

"Calm down, BF/N." I murmured to her. Only now did I notice that countless phones were directed at me. That was really a bit uncomfortable for me. Fortunately, the attention of the people quickly turned back to the match.

After 20 nerve-wracking minutes, Kyle and Bobby had made it and were declared the new champions. Shortly after, they made their way back up the ramp. Always closely followed by the camera. But that didn't stop Kyle from pausing by my side for a moment.

"I'll see you at the end of the show. Don't run away from me again!" he said quietly to me before grabbing my hand and placing a kiss on it.

I didn't even have the chance to say anything back, so I just nodded my head briefly.

Couldn't the show be over now? I took a quick look at my watch and noticed with displeasure that there were still another 30 minutes until the end of the show. That was certainly the longest half hour of my life so far.
