24 Newlyweds

Kyle and I had barely walked through the doors of the arena and the security check when quite a few friends and colleagues rushed over to meet us. Since we had kept our wedding small and intimate, many of them had not been there. Still, our news had spread like wildfire.

Everyone took the opportunity to congratulate us on the baby and of course the wedding. It was the first chance they had, since am the guys were not booked on Wednesday. Only a pre-recorded video package of them was shown.

It was really sweet how everyone was happy for us. I was always overwhelmed how naturally everyone dealt with me. It had been like that from the beginning, everyone made sure I felt welcome. It was really like a big family backstage.

Whenever Kyle wasn't by my side, the girls took me under their wing. They were all real sweethearts that I wouldn't want to miss in my life. And today was no different. As soon as the guys went to the meeting and the fitting, the girls bombarded me with questions.

The time passed in a flash and the show was already in full swing. It wasn't long before it was the turn of the guys for their match.

"Ready to see the new ring gear, Mrs. O'Reilly?" Kyle asked me. I hadn't gotten used to my new name yet, but I still loved it when he called me that.

"Are you all dressed? Can I come back in?" I wanted to know before I went back into the locker room.

"Yeah, all covered up!" I heard Roderick call out.

I walked in and eyed my husband up and down. He looked as good as always. But I had to say that I especially liked the red.

"Uh, I love it!" I said to Kyle and went to kiss him.

"Okay, let's leave the newlyweds alone for a few minutes." said Bobby to the other two.

"Thanks guys!" I replied as they left the room.

"I love the red. You look really hot." I whispered against Kyle's lips.

"Oh yeah, good to know. Keep that in mind when we get home tonight, baby." he smirked and pressed his lips harder against mine.

"Mmmh... I would, but you're probably pretty beat up and sore." I replied as we stood there tightly wrapped together.

"Don't underestimate me, Y/N!" he said with a grin.

"I never would. Okay baby, have fun and take care of yourself.I love you." I replied.

"I will. I love you, too. And you too, little man!" he said, giving first me and then the slight bump under my shirt a kiss.

"Are you still convinced it's a boy? What if it's a girl?" I asked, smiling.

"I'm the father, I have a feeling. We're having a little boy, a future champion." he replied confidently.

"Whatever you say, Dad." I said, giving him one last kiss before it was time for Kyle to leave.

It made me really proud that Kyle finally got his push as a singles wrestler, but still it was always great to see him in action with the others. The WarGames match was the perfect stage for them to show how well they worked as a team.

We've known about the plans for UE to split up for a while now, but no one knew when, how, or if those plans would be realized.

I watched anxiously as my husband opened the match, wincing with each impact. These long, hard matches were never easy to watch, even though I was used to them by now. A little bit of worry about Kyle and the others was always there. It took what felt like an eternity, but eventually Kyle picked up the win for himself and the guys.

Now I could breathe a little more easily again and relax. I leaned back on the couch and briefly closed my eyes. In my experience, it would be a while before the men would show up here again. The interviews, photo shoots and debriefings always took some time.

Kyle POV

We were all totally exhausted and sore when we finally dragged our tired bodies to our locker room. This victory felt so good and was special to us since it was probably the last time.

As soon as we entered the room my eyes searched for Y/N. It only took seconds for me to find her. My glowing wife was curled up on the old couch sleeping. She looked so cute and once again I could hardly believe my luck.

I had asked her to stay home and relax, but as always, there was no point. Y/N had been determined to accompany me and support me. And I loved to have her with me as much as possible. Especially now while she was carrying our baby.

Just looking at her, I could have burst with pride and love and gratitude.

Without words I let the boys know that they should please be quiet and with a quick glance at Y/N they understood what I meant. I decided to let her sleep while we went to shower.

A short time later we were all freshened up and the boys had already said their goodbyes. Just like me, they couldn't wait to fall into a soft, comfortable bed.

I carefully knelt down next to the couch, ignoring my aching muscles. Gently, I stroked Y/N's cheek.

"Baby, wake up! Time to go home." I spoke softly. Her eyes fluttered and looked up at me tiredly.

"Hey... you changed already? How long have you been back?" she asked, rubbing her eyes tiredly.

"About 30 minutes. Adam, Roddy and Bobby just left. Come on, baby. Let's go home." I explained to her.

"Oh okay. Let's go!" she yawned and stood up.

"Hold on a second, Kyle. I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you. You are an amazing man and you are doing a great job. Not just today, but always. I love you so much." she said to me and then put her arms around my shoulders. I felt that she was careful not to hurt me.

Suddenly she pulled away from me and looked startled as she put a hand on her belly.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" I asked in alarm. Then her expression changed to a bright smile.

"More than okay... I... I just felt the baby. It's moving." she explained to me in a shaky voice.

"Really? Let me feel it!" I said, putting my hand on the same spot.

"Do you feel it?" she asked enthusiastically.

"Hmm... no, I don't think so." I replied, a little disappointed.

"Oh... I'm sorry, baby. Maybe it's not strong enough to reach the surface yet. But very soon. I promise." she tried to cheer me up.

She was right, of course. The baby was still so small. I just had to be patient a little longer. Even though I could hardly wait.

"I know, I know. I'm just impatient. It's a good thing we'll find out what it's going to be this week at least. Even though I'm 100% sure it's a boy," I replied as we finally made our way to the car.

"It's so crazy how fast it all goes. Seventeen weeks, that's almost half!" mused Y/N.

"Not fast enough for me! I can't wait to hold our baby in my arms!" I said and squeezed Y/N's hand which I held tightly in mine.
