Annoyed, I looked at the monitor at my gate to see when my flight was finally ready to board. I sighed. There were still 45 minutes until boarding. What a huge waste of time this trip had been.

I pulled out my phone and dialed the number of the one person who could cheer me up no matter what. It didn't take long for him to answer.

"Hey beautiful! How did the interview and photo shoot go?" asked Kyle.

"Well, not so good actually. They canceled both on short notice. That means we flew to Boston for nothing. Now we're back at the airport waiting to board the plane, but it's going to take a little longer. The photographer, Marvin, is getting something to eat, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to hear how you're doing," I explained.

"You're at the airport already? That sucks. I'm sorry they just wasted your time. I'm already on my way to Full Sail." said Kyle, but somehow he sounded flustered.

"You're already on your way? That's pretty early today. Is everything okay?" I asked.

"Yes, everything is fine. It's just that something has changed in the schedule for today and we have to be there a little earlier. Nothing big. Are you still coming straight from the airport to Full Sail?" he wanted to know.

"That's my plan. Marvin is nice enough to drop me off there. It's on his way. If everything works out, though, I'll be there a few hours earlier than expected. But since you have to be there earlier today anyway, that's not a real problem," I replied.

"Oh, um, no that's not a problem. Will you call me when you get there? Then I'll get you in, like I always do. I'm sorry, baby, but I have to run an errand real quick. I'll see you this afternoon. I love you." he spoke hurriedly.

"Okay, handsome. I'll see you then. Love you. Bye." I said.

"See ya. Bye." Kyle replied, and then hung up.

I asked myself what his slightly weird behavior was all about. Maybe it was just because they had messed up his schedule for the day. After all, it was only 10:30 am. That was really unusually early.

I tried not to worry about that any further. God knows I was worried about enough other things. It had only been a few days since I dropped my bomb on Kyle. He assured me that nothing would change for us, but I wasn't so sure.

Things like that had a big impact on the course of a life. I wasn't sure if the meaning of it had completely sunk in with Kyle. When you wanted children and then learned that it might never happen, that changed your view of life and your relationship. No matter how much you were convinced it didn't make a difference.

The flight and the drive to Full Sail University went faster than expected and without any incidents. I took my carry-on bag and thanked Marvin again for being so kind to drive me here.

As I made my way toward the back entrance, I dialed Kyle's number, just as I always did when I visited him here. I watched the shows now mostly from backstage. I only sat in the audience when I had a group of friends with me. Not only did it make me feel safer, it also gave Kyle a little more ease.

"Hey, handsome! I'm here!" I said as soon as he answered the call.

"Oh hey baby. I'm a little busy right now, but I'll send someone to get you. I'll see you in a bit!" he replied and before I could ask about it, he hung up.

Hmm, weird. What a weird day it was today. Nothing seemed to go as planned.

A short time later the door opened and a wide grinning Adam strode towards me.

"Hi, shortie! How are you?" he greeted me and gave me a quick hug.

"I'm fine! How are you?" I replied.

"I'm doing great. Here, let me take your carry-on bag. What do you say we take your stuff to the locker room and then see where Kyle is?" Adam suggested as he grabbed my luggage and started walking.

"Sounds good! Have you all been here this early today?" I wanted to know as I followed him through security.

"Just a few of us," Adam said.

"What was so important that you guys had to be here so early?" I asked after he had placed my carry-on and purse in the locker room.

"Oh, um...you'll see." he replied with a smile.

Then we went in the direction I knew the ring was in.

"Is Kyle rehearsing for the match tonight or something?" I wanted to know as Adam pushed me forward through the curtains. That was the way the wrestlers usually went when they went to the ring.

"Just keep walking, Y/N!" Adam urged me.

As I stepped around the corner and stood on the ramp, my breath got caught in my throat. In shock, I covered my mouth with my hands and froze.

The whole way down to the ring was decorated all over with red roses. They had removed the front ring ropes and placed steel steps in front of the ring. The ring itself was also filled with roses and there in the middle of it all stood Kyle, dressed in a suit..

"Come to me, baby!" he prompted.

My legs started working again on their own, because my brain was still too busy processing the image that presented itself to me. I walked up the steps and approached Kyle. I still held my hands in front of my face.

Kyle smiled brightly at me and as I stood in front of him, he gently took my hands in his.

"My beloved Y/N. What would I do without you in my life? This is a question I never want to think about again. Back then, when I caught sight of you in the audience and then our eyes met, everything in me changed. I didn't know it at the time, but I had found something that I would never forget. And I am so glad that you returned here a few weeks later. So I had the chance to make you a part of my life.

I love you more than I ever thought possible. You are the light, the warmth and the peace I need to survive. As I thought about where the appropriate place for this would be, it occurred to me that there is actually no better place than the place where we first met.

So now I stand in front of you, Y/N L/N and ask you, will you marry me?" spoke Kyle before he eventually got down on one knee and showed me a ring. His dark eyes glistened with tears as he looked up at me, waiting for my answer.

"Oh my god, Kyle! Yes, of course yes! 100 times yes! I love you so much! Yes!" I replied crying.

Kyle jumped back to his feet and kissed me with love and gratitude before he placed the ring on my finger. My arms wrapped around his neck while his were wrapped tightly around my waist.

After we detached our lips from each other we just stood there and hugged. In silence and just soaking up this special moment.

"Kyle, are you-" I started.

"I know what you're going to say, Y/N. Yes, I am sure. And no, the fact that having kids might not be easy doesn't change anything for me. You said it's not impossible so we don't give up already. We have a chance. We will try, just you and me. No doctors, no tests, no treatments. We have time and if it doesn't work we have many options. I love you and I will keep our promise. Giving up and running away are out of the question." Kyle confidently explained to me.

"Okay. I just wanted to make sure you thought about it carefully," I whispered.

"I have. And I'll promise you one more thing. I'm going to make you a mommy. One way or another." He continued, his look showing his seriousness.

"I love you so much, Kyle! You have no idea." I said and then kissed him with so much love I thought I was going to burst.

"I love you too, Y/N." he replied, looking not only into my eyes but also into my soul.

One thing was certain for me at that moment, as long as I had Kyle in my life, I would be able to cope with everything that life had in store for us. Everything positive and everything negative. I could hardly wait for the future that awaited us.
