"All right you two. Be quiet. Let daddy sleep a little longer. Come on." I said to the dogs as I unlocked the front door and quietly entered the house. Everything was silent and so I assumed that Kyle was still fast asleep.

I went into the kitchen and began to prepare breakfast. I had just put the bagels into the oven to warm up and was just about to pour the eggs into the pan, when suddenly warm hands laid on my belly and I felt a kiss on my hair.

I flinched slightly in shock, because I hadn't heard Kyle.

"My goodness. Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I asked, startled, placing a hand on my racing heart.

"Sorry, baby. I thought you heard me." he apologized.

"I didn't. But anyway... good morning, baby. I was actually going to surprise you with breakfast in bed," I explained to him.

"Good morning. Oh, that's too bad. What do you say I help you and then we go back to bed to eat?" said Kyle, giving me a sweet good morning kiss.

"Sounds perfect. You better check your sugar levels first. I need to get the eggs ready. I took the dogs for a walk and on that occasion we went to the bakery and got fresh bagels." I said.

"I already have everything ready. I've already taken my medication, too. How can I help you?" he asked.

"Will you make the scrambled eggs please? I'll go ahead and get the ham and cream cheese out of the fridge. Would you like juice or just coffee?" I wanted to know.

"Just coffee. Did you sleep better last night?" spoke Kyle.

"Yes, at last. I'm still waiting for the 'you get so much energy back in the second trimester'. Because so far I have no idea what people are talking about." I explained.

"You can sleep all you want, baby. You just need it, which probably means the baby needs it too." he said.

"Yeah probably. It's still annoying though. I didn't even catch you coming home last night." I grumbled.

"Don't worry about that. And speaking of the baby... what time do we have to be at the doctor's office?" inquired Kyle.

"At 12:30 pm. We've got plenty of time. Okay, everything ready? Then let's get back to bed, husband." I said as I pulled the warm bagels out of the oven.

Some time later we sat in the doctor's waiting room waiting for me to be called in. Kyle was visibly nervous. He couldn't wait to hear that he was right in his assumption that our baby was a boy. Why he was so sure, he didn't know himself. He just said he had a feeling. Well, maybe he was right. He has been right too when he thought I was pregnant.

Then the time finally came. The doctor did his usual examinations and asked the same questions as always. And soon it was time for the ultrasound.

"Everything looks very good. Your baby is a little bigger than average development-wise, but it's not unusual. The heartbeat is also as expected. You told me you could feel the first movements, Y/N and I'm sure it won't be long for Dad either. We are looking at a strong little being here. Alright. Do you really want to know the sex?" the doctor told us.

"Yes absolutely." replied Kyle quickly.

"Actually... Babe, I changed my mind. I don't want to know and I want to be surprised." I said to Kyle and saw his face fall.

"I'm just kidding. Of course I want to know too." I laughed. Immediately his face brightened up again.

"Oh that wasn't nice at all!" he pouted.

"Oh come on, a little fun is a must," I replied with a grin. He looked so cute when he pouted.

"Alright, since you guys agree, let's take a look." the doctor said with a visible smirk. He moved the probe back over my belly, looking for the crucial clue. It didn't take long for him to pause.

"And here my friends, you can see very clearly that it is a boy. Congratulations." said the doctor as he pointed to the monitor.

"Yes! I knew it! I knew it!" Kyle cheered, punching the air.

I couldn't help but laugh at his joy and silliness. It wasn't long before I had two of this kind. I could hardly believe my luck. And Kyle had indeed been right. He was getting his son.

The doctor left the room so I could get dressed again. When I was done, Kyle didn't waste a second to pull me tightly into his arms. Well, as tight as the baby bump would allow.

Kyle covered my face with kisses, stroking the bump over and over.

"I told you, beautiful." he chuckled.

"I know, handsome. And I love you for it. Your feelings are always right." I whispered, resting my chin on his shoulder.

"I love you both so much. We're having a boy! I'm so excited. But I promise you, the next one will be a girl." spoke Kyle.

"We love you, too, Daddy. And that's a pretty bold prediction. Let the little man be born and grow first, then we'll talk about the mixed tag team." I replied as I broke away from him and took his hand.

"Now I can start buying all that cool little boy stuff I've already seen," Kyle said as we arrived at the car.

"Oh dear, please don't overdo it." I replied, because I suspected he might very well overdo it.

"No promises." Kyle replied with a wink.
