Regulus Black was walking towards the DADA classroom out of mere instinct. It was after school, and he knew that was Y/n's last class - and that she'd be there.
He knew he wasn't supposed to go there. He didn't even know why he was heading there - what he would do or say when he saw her.
It was like a routine for him to go to Y/n's class after school. It was, before she went on and got a boyfriend just a couple of weeks after their fling ended.
He was finally approaching the classroom, approaching Y/n. He took a deep breath and fixed up his tie, walking past a handful of sixth year Gryffindors who all gave him dirty looks. Especially after the mayhem he created at the party.
Regulus was walking pass the door of the classroom, and there he saw her. Y/n. She was leaning against the wall, talking to Remus Lupin.
Her boyfriend.
It hurt Regulus to see her so happy without him - so unaffected by everything that had happened.
It was like she never met him - like whatever happened between them didn't happen at all/
It hurt to see the blush on her cheeks appearing while she giggled at something Remus said. It hurt because Y/n used to look at Regulus that way. The sparkle in her eyes, the little dimples appearing on her cheeks as she smiled. Everything about her - he missed.
"You know what i feel when i'm with you?" Regulus heard Remus said to Y/n. Who didn't even seem to acknowledge him walking past her.
His heart was beating fast. He wanted to walk as fast as possible - he wanted to get away from them. But at the same time, he was curious about their conversation.
"What?" Y/n chuckled. Regulus saw Remus leaning closer to her as he placed a lock of her hair behind her ear. He caressed her cheek and said, "This crazy little thing called love.
And then he kissed her.
Tears started rolling down his eyes - so Regulus ran. He ran away from the two. He didn't care if Y/n saw him.
Good for her, Regulus thought. She looked happy - out and about with someone else, moving on really easily like it was nothing. Like she didn't promise she'd be there for him - like she didn't know him - like she didn't kiss him.
He certainly couldn't say the same for himself.
The sleepless nights - all the times that he'd cry alone at midnight in the same corridor that she found him - hoping that she would come. But she never did.
He really didn't understand how Y/n could be so okay. He didn't get how she could be in a very happy and healthy relationship with someone else.
