*Emma's POV*

"Emma?" My dad said as I came into the station the next day, looking baffled. "What are you doing here?"

"My job," I answered simply, going to my desk to start sorting through the things I needed to do. My brain was too caught up in Killian's goodbye kiss from a few minutes ago to focus, thinking about it making my face and chest flush. He'd kissed me in a way that made me want to say to hell with work, I'd just stay home and get lost in him. He'd kissed me like it was the first time... or the last.

"But I thought..." he started, clearing the nervous tremble from his voice as he came into my office. "I thought you were staying home so the queen couldn't get to you and the baby."

"I was," I nodded, letting out a sigh before looking up at him. "But I'm here now. Killian and I talked about it, I talked to Regina about my magic, it's fine. I can't sit alone in that house while everyone else is being productive, I just can't. I'm the Savior, I'm the sheriff, I need to be doing my job."

"Well, today its pretty much just paperwork," he told me, grabbing a couple of files off his desk and handing them to me. "You wanted to get everything digital, its tedious, but its what we have. Maybe it'll keep you out of trouble for the day, too."

"Thanks, dad," I said with genuine relief. I wasn't in the mood for a guilt trip right now. Before I could even get logged into my computer the phone rang, making me inwardly groan as I answered. "Sheriff's station, Emma speaking."

"Swan?" Killian's anxious voice answered. "You doing alright? Do you need anything?"

"I literally got here ten minutes ago," I laughed lightly. "I know you're worried, but I'm just fine, I promise. Dad just gave me a bunch of paperwork, the worst thing that could happen is some paper cuts."

"Alright," he said, his tone still very concerned. I could tell he was going to drive himself crazy in the small amount of time I'd be gone today. "I'll bring you lunch in a few hours, yeah?"

"Thanks, babe," I smiled to myself, knowing full wellhe'dspend the rest of the afternoon here. "I'll see you then. I love you."

"I love you so much, Emma," he sighed. "Please be safe."

"Killian already?" Dad asked after I hung up and I looked over to him, finding an amused expression on his face. "I'm actually surprised he didn't just come with you."

"That would have been too convenient," the Evil Queen said with annoyance when she appeared in a cloud of smoke. I quickly stood up, backing as far from her as I could, not afraidfor myself but my baby. "I knew you'd come here sooner or later, but I was hoping to get you and that pirate out of the way at the same time."

"Well that sucks for you, doesn't it?" I taunted her, bringing disgust to her face. "Now what do you want?"

"You know exactly what I want," She glared at me, walking towards me slowly. I could see dad on the phone out of the corner of my eye, raising my hand to be ready to strike with my magic. "Do you really think you're strong enough to beat me? Last I heard you weren't using your magic, what else do you have?"

"Plenty," I snapped, hitting her with a steady stream of magic. The baby went crazy immediately, my abdomen burning in moments, but I was holding her off.

She glared at me, trying to move forward through it. I amped up my power, the light so bright I couldn't see anything but her. A couple of minutes later her resistance disappeared, my stream of magic dying as I felt my legs give out and everything went dark.

*Killian's POV*

"What happened?!" I yelled as I ran into the Sheriff's station, my heart sinking when I saw Emma unconscious on the floor next to her desk. "I just talked to her twenty minutes ago, she was fine!"
