*Killian's POV*
Emma ended up falling asleep in my arms downstairs, curled up between my legs as I sat across the sofa with her side against my front and her hand on my chest. She had her face tucked into the crook of my neck, clearly still exhausted since she told me she hadn't slept since the last time she was with me. I'd been worried for her before, but now... now I was genuinely terrified. Emma had always been my world, but now suddenly that world had grown to not only include her and her son, but our baby.
I was lost in my thoughts when the front door opened, my hand quickly going to over Emma's stomach protectively. I relaxed when I found it was just her family, my hand staying in place as all of them came into the living room. Something was off, though, about their expressions, the way they wouldn't look directly at us.
"What's going on?" I asked quietly so I didn't wake Emma, putting my free hand on Henry's shoulder when he sat on the floor next to us and leaned his head on me. "Did you get anything from him?"
"No," Regina answered, glaring at the Charmings when they looked at her. "He didn't tell us anything new."
"Woah, hey, no," I stopped them. "You're hiding something and none of you are good liars in a group like this. So come on, one of you spit it out."
"No," Regina snapped at Snow when she went to say something. "This isn't our information to share."
"What isn't?" I asked, now panicked and holding Emma tighter. "She's clearly after Emma so I don't care what it is, I need to know so I can keep her safe."
"Killian," Emma mumbled sleepily, her thumb running along the bare part of my chest and I looked down at her to find her eyes still closed. "You're being loud, calm down."
"Sorry, love," I said much more quietly, running my fingers through her hair. "I didn't mean to wake you, we were just talking."
"I heard," she sighed as her eyes fluttered open to meet mine. "But I think we both know what he told them so why don't we just get it out in the open and deal with it?"
"As you wish," I nodded and she smiled, probably reminded as much as I was of our first kiss as she sat up a bit to face everyone.
"Okay, first of all," she started, taking a breath. "I don't want this to be a big deal, it's just... a thing. And second of all, I know I told two of you not to say anything, but I never meant to cause arguing. Everyone just needs to keep it together."
"Emma," he mother said gently, obviously forcing herself to follow her daughter's wishes. "Just tell us."
"Okay," she sighed, glancing at me when I took her hand to reassure her and keeping her eyes on mine as she told them. "I'm pregnant... and she's after our baby."
Practical chaos followed as everyone started to talk and tried to make a plan after sending Henry upstairs, but Emma was conspicuously quiet with her arms crossed over her stomach. I shook my head and pulled her back into my arms with a sigh, her arms sliding around me to hold onto the back of my shirt. She settled her head on my chest as I rubbed her back gently, trying to comfort her the best way I could while everyone argued.
"This is exactly what I didn't want," she whispered, closing her eyes as tears slid down her cheeks. "I wanted it to be a good thing this time."
"I know, love," I sighed, wiping her tears with my knuckles and kissing her forehead. "And it is good, it's wonderful. We'll sort it out, why don't you go finish your nap upstairs?"
"I... I'm fine," she insisted, trying to pull away the way she always did when things got too emotional for her but I held her to me. "Killian, don't. I'm fine, really."
