Okay, so the events of the episode happened the day after the first but we're going to pretend what's his face didn't come to Storybrooke. I'm going to start with that adorable last scene between them.
*Emma's POV *
"Killian..." I started a bit awkwardly as he threaded our fingers together and everyone else went into Granny's.
"What is it, love?" He asked, looking over at me. "You don't still feel guilty about my return, do you?"
"No, just after everything we've been through, the darkness, Hades, being separated by realms," I took a breath, stopping in front of the diner to face him. "I just wanted to say something, you know, when we're not in the middle of a big battle or one of us is facing death. When things are just... normal."
"What's that, Swan?" He questioned, nodding slightly when I hesitated. I looked in his eyes and all the reasons I'd waited so long to tell him how I felt just fell away, I just knew.
"I love you," I smiled and his face lit up. His lips found mine and my feet left the ground as he picked me up. I smiled a bit, hugging him tightly around his neck as we kissed. Even when he set me down he didn't let me go, our deep kiss continuing for a few more moments.
"I love you, too, Swan," he said a bit breathlessly, resting his forehead on mine as I bit my lip and smiled. "Now shall we go have dinner with your family?"
"It's your family too now, pirate," I reminded him with a smile as I grabbed his hand to drag him towards the door while he grinned. "Get used to it."
"As you wish," he smirked and my smile widened, his fingers threading through mine. We sat down at the booth with everyone and he wrapped his arm around me, soon joined by Henry and Regina as well. "Ah, Regina, I never got to, uhm, express my condolences. I'm truly sorry for your loss."
"Thank you," she said and gave him a sad but genuine smile. "I'm, uhm, glad you're back... I think."
He breathed out a short laugh and I just shook my head at them, fidgeting lightly with his fingers in my lap. We had the most normal dinner we'd had in months that night, just catching up on everything and spending time together. I was cherishing this time, so relieved to be back with my family and my pirate that I had to hold back tears at one point while Killian said I goodbye to my parents and Regina.
"You coming with us, kid?" I asked Henry. "There's not much in you're room yet, but you're welcome to come to my- I mean our place if you want."
"Thanks," he half smiled, glancing at Regina. "But I think I'm gunna go with mom tonight if that's okay."
"Sure," I nodded and he hugged me tightly for just a moment. "We'll go get your stuff from our place in New York soon, I promise."
"Sounds good," he said, exhaustion in his voice as he hugged Killian as well. "Night mom, night dad."
He wandered out of the diner as we all just kind of stared at each other in shock.
"Did he just..." my mom started, looking at Killian and I as we looked at each other.
"Yeah," my dad answered in disbelief. "He did."
"Ok..ay then," I said after a moment, squeezing Killian's hand. "You ready to go?"
"Aye," he nodded, swallowing hard and clearly still in a bit of shock. We all dispersed after that and Killian stayed quiet the entire walk home, apparently thinking until I was in my nightgown and he was in only his pants. "Did Henry honestly just refer to me as his father?"
"Are you really all that surprised?" I asked, going over to wrap my arms tight around his waist. He finally looked at me again, his arms going around me almost instinctively. "You've always been great with him, even when it drove me crazy, and you've been around taking care of and protecting him like I do for a long time. You've been around way more than his biological dad was, I knew he'd do it when he was ready."
"You did?" He asked quietly, his eyebrows still knitted together as they had been since it happened.
"Of course," I smiled softly, reaching up to gently smooth the crease between his eyebrows and seeing his eyes soften. "I know my kid pretty well and he loves you almost as much as I do. In a very different way obviously, but he does."
"I-its just a lot of responsibility and," he shook his head. "I don't want to let him down."
"Killian," I put my hand on his cheek to make him look at me. "You've never let either of us down, and you won't as long as you don't go dying on me again."
He nodded, bringing me into a tight hug and letting out a shaky breath into my hair. I hugged him tightly, slowly pulling him towards the bed so we could lay down together. He took off his jeans so he was just in his boxers and climbed under the comforter with me, quickly pulling me closer. I snuggled right up to him, loving the smile I got from him whenever we were that pressed together.
"Well with our life, all I can promise is that I'll do my best," he said and I smiled a little, kissing him softly before pressing my forehead to his. We stayed quiet for a while, just enjoying the other's company until he sighed. "How do you always do that?"
"Do what?" I asked, confused. "I'm just laying here."
"I don't know, just," he looked back to my eyes. "Make it feel like I deserve to have a family and be happy, like I can really have it all."
"Because you do, and you can," I smiled softly, moving my hand up to run my thumb along his cheekbone. "You and I are finally together the way we wanted to be, and that's how it's going to stay. This life may be complicated, but we can have it all. We have to live our life during the crisis, remember?"
"I believe I'm the one who told you that, Swan," he smiled but I saw something change in his eyes. "But you're quite right. Any life with you is worth it."
"Go to sleep," I blushed, kissing him again softly and wrapping my arms around him to press myself closer. "Its been a long day and I'm exhausted."
"Goodnight, love," he said quietly but captured my lips in a deep kiss. I sighed happily, holding him tighter as he kissed me until I could barely breathe. "I love you so much, Emma."
"I love you, too, Killian," I whispered with my eyes still closed, cuddling into him as I fell asleep.
*Killian's POV *
I decided while we talked that night that it was time to do something that was probably quite overdue. I just had to figure out how, falling asleep with her in my arms and far too many thoughts in my mind.
I know it's a bit late, and I'm sorry, it's been a weird few days. Hope you enjoy it!
