*Killian's POV*

I woke up the next morning alone, groaning as I tried to sit up. In a split second I heard light feet coming up the stairs, a flustered Emma coming in a moment later in one of my button ups and shorts. She helped me sit up carefully so I could lean back on our headboard, her hands shaking as they adjusted things.

"Emma," I stopped her hands, holding them still in both of mine. "Stop fussing over me, love, I'm fine. Why don't you come back to bed?"

"I can't," she shook her head, her voice trembling with her anxiety. "I was in the middle of making your breakfast but you sounded like you were in pain, so I was just-"

"Too much," I interrupted her as gently as I could. "You've been fussing over me for two days now, and it's stressing you out. What stresses you out, stresses out our little one and I'm not standing for either."

"That's because you can barely stand," she rolled her eyes but got a small smile anyway. "But don't worry about it, okay? I like taking care of you and Henry, it's something nice and normal. It makes me feel like a real mom and girlfriend, you know?"

"Oh, love, you are," I tried to assure her, bringing her hands up to my lips to kiss her knuckles as her face flushed. "I just don't want you doing too much, alright? Promise me, yeah?"

"Fine," she sighed dramatically, leaning over to kiss my cheek. "You're really cute when you're being protective, you know that?"

"I can't be cute, I'm a pirate," I tried to insist flatly but when she giggled I couldn't stop my lips from tugging into a smile. I quickly grabbed her, ignoring my pain to pull her over and pin her hands to the bed. "Its bad form to laugh at a pirate, Swan. Didn't anyone ever teach you that?"

"I love you," she giggled, the way she was looking up at me and biting her lip against her smile making me ache for her despite the fact that she was mere inches from me. "I think I love you more every day, you ridiculous pirate."

"Well this pirate seems to have caught himself a princess," I said in a much lower voice, seeing the playfulness in her eyes change in response. We lunged at the same time and I pulled her lip from between her teeth, her moan making my blood run decidedly south. We sunk into our kiss so easily we didn't notice the smoke until a loud blaring filled the house along with it.

"Shit!" She gasped, scrambling out from under me and running downstairs. I followed her as quickly as I could, finding her rushing around opening the doors and windows in spite of the cold air of winter before going to the smoking stove. "I totally forgot about your breakfast, and now it's completely ruined. It looks like I was making coal."

"It's alright," I said gently when I heard the tremble in her voice, wrapping my arms around her from behind just as she started to cry. "Oh, love, don't cry. Please don't cry."

"Sorry," she sniffled but let me turn her towards me, readily settling into my embrace. "I don't know what's wrong with me, I just feel so stupid."

"Come on, my love," I sighed, leading her out to the porch swing and out of the smoke. "Let's just start with some fresh air, yeah? All that smoke can't be good for you and our little one."

"That's probably why I'm being so ridiculous," she said quietly, her hands running over her slightly rounded stomach lovingly as she let me hold her. "Stupid pregnancy hormones making me weird."

"Well in the little one's defense, I did distract you," I chuckled lightly and she smiled a bit, looking up at me through her dark lashes. "Ah, there's the smile I love so much."

"Hey, what happened?" Henry's voice came from the yard as he hurried through the gate and up to where we were. "Did dad use the stove again?"

"Actually this time it was me," Emma admitted and Henry looked at her with confusion. "Apparently pregnancy brain kicks in sooner than I thought."

"Oh," he laughed a bit, sitting on the porch in front of us and setting his bag next to him. "I'm assuming you guys are okay, though, right?"

"Fine, lad, don't worry," I assured him, kissing Emma's cheek before getting up. "I'm just going to try to clear out some more of the smoke before I let you two back inside."

* Emma's POV *

"He still doesn't know, right?" Henry asked the moment Killian went inside, moving up to sit next to me.

"He has no idea," I confirmed with a wide smile, glancing through the window to be sure he hadn't heard us. "I'm actually surprised, he usually sees right through me."

"We just have to get him out of the house now," he told me, using that tone he always did when referring to "missions". I loved that he still did that, still held on to pieces of the kid that knocked on my door those years ago. "Nice move with the stove by the way. Gives us the perfect cover."

"Speaking of," I sighed, turning to the window and deciding to just let Henry believe I did this on purpose. "Killian, babe, why don't we just go out for a while? Let the house air out?"

"Aye, that's probably best," he agreed, coughing as he came back outside. "We should probably get dressed first with the weather like this, love, but I don't want you in there with all that smoke."

"I'm sure I can find something I left behind at the loft," I suggested, seeing Henry on his phone a moment later without even needing a look from me. "Then you can have this shirt back and we'll be fine. Don't worry about it."

"Whatever you say, Swan," he said simply, having found arguing with me over the past few days pointless and coming to help me up. "Let's go then."

We piled into my bug since I could tell Killian didn't like the idea of me walking around in what I had on, heading towards the loft as slowly as I could get away with. I glanced at Henry when I saw both my parents' cars but he only gave me a slight nod, telling me silently that this was the plan. I could hear the baby crying from the hall, not bothering to knock before going inside.

"Oh thank god," my mom said with relief when she saw us, immediately hauling my screaming brother into my arms. "I don't mean to force him on you, but you're the only one who can calm him down when he's like this. He just won't stop crying!"

"Woah, okay," I conceded easily, turning my attention to the very disgruntled baby I was bouncing gently against my chest. "Hey, little man, what's the big commotion, huh?" He calmed as I talked to him like usual, laying down on my chest with his thumb in his mouth while I rubbed his back soothingly. "See? There's no need to scream, is there?"

"Seems the little lad just wanted his sister," Killian commented with a smirk as I pressed a kiss to Neal's head and his eyes fell closed with a soft sigh. "He calmed down so fast you'd think he was never crying."

"He does that with Emma," dad sighed, clearly exhausted as he got a travel mug of coffee ready. "We were actually about to call and see if you could watch him while we run some errands. Would you mind?"

"Sure," I agreed before Killian could ask questions, gently going to give the baby to him. "I just need to change."

"Uhm, Swan," Killian said uncomfortably as I headed upstairs and my parents left, looking back at my brother as he stared at him inquisitively. I dug through one of my leftover boxes, finding a bra and tank top to put on before going back down. "I don't think he likes me, love, you should take him."

"He's not screaming," I pointed out with a small smirk as I took him back and he quickly settled on my chest again. "If he didn't like you he'd make it clear. Besides, it's good practice."

"Aye, I suppose," he agreed, pulling on the shirt I'd just had on while Henry got busy with his old game system. "But he clearly likes you better, not that I blame him, and I'm sure our daughter will be the same way."

"I don't know about that," I half smiled, feeling her stirring at the sound of his voice. "I've got a feeling she's going to quite the daddy's girl."

Okay, loves, get ready for fluff, because fluff is needed in my life. Also, as you can probably tell, I'm making this my own. As requested. Anyway, I'll try to get you another update soon. Later, loves!
