20. WORKING the line

Jane and I met for coffee and breakfast before heading inside at the Dirty Robber.

Antonio and Kevin were picking up breakfast burritos and coffee.
" Jane how was the concert and the date?"
" Kevin you can tell Cindy she did well." Maur and Antonio laughed and left with their food. " Maur here is your cd and t-shirt.  You will love the cd. Its her latest one."  We finish our food and I go upstairs and Maur goes to the basement.
"Jane the Lt. wants to speak with us." I entered Cavanaugh's office with my brother,Frankie. "I have good and bad news for you two. Good news is your both still employed. The bad news is the PC is implementing a new policy effective today that no two siblings,  spouse, parent and child nor cousins will be allowed to work in the same department. Frankie you are being transferred to the drug unit. I wish it could be different but its not. Jane for now Frank's position won't be filled."
"Lt. transferring me I am okay with but can it be me transferring to possible to CSI instead?  I finished up the courses that is required to be a CSI now."
" Frankie you have been extra tired lately. Is this why you haven't told me and the family? You wanted to surprise us?"  "Yes but as you know Lt. also needs to approve it for it to happen."  "Frank as you know nothing is finalized until I sign off on it.  Yes,  you can do that now."  " Thank you sir. I believe Dr. Isles will be appreciative of having me added to her team. May you allow me to be the person to inform her? If yes, Jane I want to do it without you being there."  "Yes, I can do that Frankie."  ( I had to do a little research. Frankie is allowed to carry a gun but a police badge won't occur just a regular identication is needed. If I accidentally  use a photo with him with a badge in the rest of this story,  I  apologize ahead of time now. In tv shows, they allow both and crimes are solved quickly.  For me crimes will be solved quickly but no badge just a gun for him like Maura is allowed. Glad to know that now). I go downstairs to meet with Maura. " Maura as you have seen in the email from the PC of the new Policy, I cannot be detective along side Jane. I have been taking courses to be a CSI like the technicians down here. Lt Cavanaugh approved me to be a CSI with a gun but no badge." 
" Frankie welcome aboard and congratulations.  For your first case work, please go help Susie with the forensics work on the shooting of
the bank robbery that the security officer died after you sign all the documents with Human Resources and get a new identification badge. You know after work we are going to celebrate at my home with a bbq for you. Be ready to do the grilling tonight and give me time to tell the others of your new position and your impromptu bbq."  I go upstairs to complete the necessary documents of job transference, get the new documents to read and take my new photo for my identification.

I went and took my photo. 

I went back to the
basement. Susie, Ken,

and the other lab techs welcomed me to the team. I started helping Susie.

Lunch arrived and I went to talk to my MA to tell her and eat my lunch at the Dirty Robber. " congrats I am so proud of you. I cannot wait for tonight. Order what you want. Its on me. "  My MA hugged me. I ordered a chicken fried sandwich with the works,  onion rings and a root beer. I went back downstairs.  I am going to have to get use to using the down button in the elevator.  I accidentally hit the up button. The elevator door opens.  "You on the wrong floor. Congrats on your new position. See you tonight."  "Thanks Frost."
My day went by quickly. Alot was done but it seemed like we didn't get it all done.  I now have an appreciation when we were impatient with CSI employees. I will definitely tell my former unit. I  officially completed my first day as a CSI. I go home and get cleaned up and head off to Maura's house.  I arrive and Maura's hands me the meat and seasons for the meat.  "Maura we got alot done but it wasn't enough time to do all of it. I now know to tell my sister and the guys to back off when they come down to ask us when."   I Iaugh at Frankie. "I am glad you see that. Now, get out there and get the meat grilled."  I go outside and Antonio arrives. "Congrats, I know you will do well. Let me help you."

Everyone is showing up. Maura brings out champagne and does a toast. "Frankie we are proud and happy to have you on my team. You will be an asset and bring a different view to the team."  "Thanks Maura. YOU GUYS I SAW WHAT IT TAKES AND ACTUALLY DO THE WORK. I HAVE A MORE APPRECIATIVE ATTITUDE. KEN, SUSIE I AM SORRY FOR ALWAYS NOT BEING AS PATIENT WHEN ASKING FOR RESULTS. MY FORMER TEAM...DON'T CONTINUE BUGGING US TO FINISH THINGS QUICKLY.  IT WON'T HAPPEN." Maura and the rest of her CSI team laughed.  MA says,  "I  will  now have less worries now. I won't have to worry about you shooting anyone or anyone shooting at you."  "MA I will still carry a gun as Maura does. I hope not to have to draw it but will if necessary. "  "Oh great, just when I thought I could worry less." Jane and I hugged MA. "MA we love you." Tommy says,  "I second what they said."  Jay showed up and Jane introduces him to the others.  Angela says, " your the realtor who she is seeing. You take care of my baby girl or you will have one angry mama."  "Yes, Angela I understand." Her brothers were pleasant but basically said the same thing Angela told me. "Jane I  am glad things are working out for you and my pal here" says Cindy.

We had a good old time. We helped to clean up.
"Jay sorry about that. We Rizzoli's are a very loving but caring family with our quirks."  "Jane i get it." Jay kisses me and opens my vehicle door for me to get in. We say our good byes.
