58. Announcement

I wake up and get ready for work and just barely make it to the restroom. I call Cavanaugh tell him that I won't be in today.  I am not feeling well.  I  email my co-workers and tell them to use Pike if they need a doctor.  I didn't get a chance to tell Antonio. He left early for work. I  don't know what clothes he wore,  since I  locked him out of the bedroom.  I  go back to sleep after taking my morning vitamins and prenatal vitamin I picked up last night on the way home. I  add it to my other pills in my bedroom. I  eat something small and drink hot tea with mint to hope it settles my stomach.  I take several bottles of water and fruit upstairs. I turned my cell off and eventually knock off to sleep. I  go downstairs to talk to my wife. "Susie is Maur around?" "No she called in sick." I  look baffled and leave I try calling Maur and it keeps going to her voice mail. Atwater and Jane says, "let's go we got a new case." "Jane I  was out of pocket last night. I am sorry. " "Antonio fine lets just deal with work work only."  Atwater looks at me funny.

"Bro just let it go. Its only going to get worse with mood swings.  CINDY TEXT ME. JAY AND JANE ARE EXPECTING."  I  wonder if Maur knew this last night.  "By the way congrats to you too." 
" For what?"  "Oh you don't know. Call your wife." "Atwater, I have but it goes straight to voice mail. She must still be mad at me from last night."  Antonio walks away. "Jane he doesn't know yet? I told him congrats and he was clueless.  I  told him to call Maur. He said it keeps going to voice mail. I  know he's my boy but this type of news needs to come from Maur not me." Jane nods as agreeing with me.

Frost shows up. We are both looking at the silo. I  tell Atwater and Antonio to go to the top and report what they see to Frost and I. Seniority has its perks at times. Antonio slips and falls in the silo.
We finally get him out. The CSI crew was already emptying it to get the body of the deceased out so getting Antonio out was just one more body.  Antonio lucked out the silo only had a few feet or it would of been a different situation that could of been deadly.  "This just isn't my day." Atwater and I return to the station while Frost and Jane are following up on a lead. I still have corn in my hair and head to the bathroom to get cleaned up.  I return to my desk and find this basket on it.

I look at Atwater. " You knew and didn't say anything why? What type of friend does that?"  "The kind that knows to stay out of your marriage and you need to go home to see how she is doing.  I  tell Cavanaugh I am taking half of the day off to check on my wife who is pregnant and I didn't know."    "Dawson don't go home being mad as you are now because others knew before you. If you do, you will be sleeping the dog house. Just think why she didn't tell you. I will see you tomorrow."  I  drive home and place the basket on the bed next to Maur while she is asleep.  I take my shirt off, clean up a little more and go hit the bag."   I wake up and see the basket my team gave Antonio.  Not a way, I  wanted him to find out but there is nothing I can do about it. I hear him hitting the bag hard. "Antonio I tried but you were too mad and than you left before I could tell you."  I look at him and he takes off his wraps and hugs me. "I know I was an ass last night and I am sorry for my behavior.  Are you feeling better at least.  I apologized to Jane too."  "I  am doing okay but tired. I am going to make something to eat, hopefully I can keep it down and go back to sleep."  Maur I will make you something to eat.  Please go rest and I will bring it up to you.  Who else have you told?"  "Just Jane and Cindy. I  guess Angela must of told the boys and Frankie told the team."

Jay returns back to his office after lunch. He finds this on his desk and laughs.

I laugh when I see it. I  text Cindy and Kevin. 'Thank you,  I will have to get Kevin one or he can borrow mine. I will even add Vicks to it.'  🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾

Kevin text me back. 'Make sure its a big jar of Vicks too.'  ' You two are awful. I am glad you like it. Enjoy the pregnancy Jay and take care of Jane. Your niece will be thrilled to be a big cousin.' I  went back to work as much as I could but the mind kept wandering of me being a father. I  decided to leave work and go to my wife's job surprise her with some chocolate she loves. 

Jane was on the phone when I arrived.  She smiled when she saw me and shook her head what I had in my hands.   "MA I will be home soon and you can show me what you are talking about." "Oh babe,  I was just craving for a salted lily candy bar too. Thanks I love it and you too."  Jane hugs me and rips open the wrapper and breaks a piece for me to eat. "Babe I am almost done with this report than we can leave together if you like. My car is in the shop.  It started acting up. You coming is perfect.  I don't have to ask someone for a ride home."  Jane finishes her report and we leave. We talk about possible baby names. We decided if its a girl. I will name her but if its  a boy I get too. We arrive home. "MA what were you saying about way too many?"  Jay and I laugh. One of the companies sent me fifteen of a kitchen aid bowl mixer 8 qt in black from the same person.  Jay calls his aunt. " Auntie thank you for the wedding gift, but you might want to check your bank statement. They sent us 15 of them. We will wait for return labels and send them back by Fed Ex."  My aunt is flustered that they sent us more than what she wanted. Angela made us dinner and headed home after she handed me the registry and who gave us what. " Angela thank you for being here the past two days and cooking. You staying and waiting for the packages were a great help to me and Jane." Jay and I hug my MA. Jay carries her luggage to her car and off she went home.  Jay and I eat beef stroganoff and salad she made us. We cleaned up and went to bed. We both were beat.
I love all the attention Antonio is giving me. The dinner was good and so far so good of keeping it down. I  really liked my neck, shoulder and feet massage. I laughed Maur fell asleep while I was finishing up her massage on her feet.
