My parents left by cab to the airport. Today, was the day the girls would go to Kleifield in New York to order their gowns and bridesmaids and Cindy, best woman would get her attire made up. Jacqueline had made a 3 o'clock appointment for all the women.
We arrive at the bridal shop.

Maur and I and our fellow bridal party of women are given a glass of champagne.  Our mothers are besides themselves with ongoing comments.  No, yes, not just right perfect. I  never thought I see the day that Maur would be tired from trying on gowns. Come on Maur enjoys shopping.  "Maur what is wrong?" "Antonio's mother should be here. This is part of the wedding experience for the family. Gabby sent them home this morning and Antonio agreed. I didn't care for what either of his parents had to say but there still his parents." "Maur they are wrong about you.  Hopefully, in two weeks they will get it together to go to to the wedding.  The only reason we agreed to New York and not France like Constance begged us was they would not accept your families tickets and other hospitality. Anyone who truly knows you, know you have a big heart and forgive way too easy." I didn't realize Gabby was next to me in the dressing room being fitted after trying on a dress. "Maur I cannot believe you are willing to forgive my parents so quickly. Antonio and I cannot. My big head brother sure found a pure gem. I  hope they do come around. It will be a loss to all of us If they don't."  "Gabby I sent them a basket of chocolate with a note and address for them to get fitted locally there for a dress and tuxedo. I  hope they will follow through. I  don't want my marriage to start off without them. They mean alot to Antonio. "  Gabby gives me a hug and leaves. She is on her cell to someone.  She has her back to me so I cannot read her lips. "Mami and papi. Maur just told me she sent you a

basket and an appointment card to get fitted.  You need to go and do this for Antonio. She feels bad because you are not here enjoying this experience with us." My parents tell me in Spanish that they will go and they are sorry. They are going to pay for themselves afterwards to fly out to New York to surprise them." Jane can we talk for a few?  I  explain to Jane what my parents are going to do and I need her help with transportation so the others won't know. I  need someone to support me in this. I am doing this for Antonio. I  still disagree with them."  We all get fitted and go back to the Halstead Estate.
