37. Morning wake ups

I woke up at 4:30 and made myself extra strong coffee and took one of Maur's cup and left her a note.  Maur I will wash cup and mail back to you today.  I  left and drove back and made it to work on time. I washed Maur's cup, boxed it up and had it addressed for Fed EX to pick it up.  I  already paid for it and printed a label for it addressed to Dr. Maura Isles.  " Susie and Ken what are working on today?"  Susie gives me a hug. "Frankie before we start on anything. How are you doing and Jane too? I am happy she found a good guy and all but what is happening to her isn't easy."   "Frankie we are here for you. If you ever need to vent. We know its never easy to see your loved one hurting," says Ken.  "Its been rough. I  had my breaking point yesterday but my family including Maur spoke to me. I am tired just because of lack of sleep but am alot better today and after both Jane and Maur getting engaged and going to have a double wedding. It will be non stop for awhile. I am just glad that Tommy will now step up and help me more. Thanks you guys."

"Frankie while you were gone, we have a case that involves multiple toxins that killed a couple in their retirement community home. We just trying to pin point more of the exact names for the team upstairs." Ken hands me some slides and some lab work they started on last night.
"I am officially engaged bro. I  cannot believe it."

"BRO, HAVE YOU SEEN THE BOSTON ENQUIRER MORNING EDITION TODAY?"  " NO, WHY?" Atwater hands me a copy of it.

"How they get the information so quick? I know Maur and Jay are well known and well off but no one told me. I can't believe this was done without anyone saying anything to me."
"Antonio look on page three on the write up." I go to page three and read,  Constance Isles of the Isles Foundation is pleased to announce her daughter, Dr. Maura Isles, Chief Forensic Medical Examiner of Boston engaged to Detective Antonio Dawson former Silver Olympian Boxer and now a detective with Boston Police Department. Jay Halstead the New Regional top Realtor is engaged to Detective, Jane Rizzoli.  Constance revealed that the dynamic duo will have a double wedding. Congratulations to the newly engaged couples.

"Well she didn't waste any time getting it out there.  I wonder how the others will feel about it.I am going to call Maur. Give me a few and I will be ready."
I hear my cell and its my fiance. "morning babe. Its so nice for you to call your fiance.  Don't the word fiance sound good to you?" "Yes it does Maur. I  am calling you to tell you Constance contacted the Boston Enquirer. The engagement on all four of us made the morning edition."  "She did what. Babe I am so sorry. I didn't know. I will address this with her today. I will inform the others too. If anything, it should of been any one of us who should been able to tell the media not Constance. I better get off and tell Jane and Jay. I will go pick one up or several so I can show them. Again, I am so sorry. love you babe.  stay safe. "  " Love you too Maur and I will do my best." I  get off the cell and Jay and the rest are downstairs except for Jane who is still asleep.  " I just received a phone call from Antonio.  Constance leaked our engagements to the Boston Enquirer. I will  be right back. I am going to town to pick some up. Jay I am sorry that Constance did that."  " Maur don't worry about it. You, I and others know how Constance is. I will drive you. " 
"Bro lets go to see what maybe some of our CI's know about the retirement home."
We leave the station to look for several of our CI's.

Jay is driving. "Maur how does it feel being engaged now? I know for me I am thrilled to have taken that leap in a short time but knew Jane was it for me."  "Jay it feels awesome but like I am seeing myself than not. I am not sure that makes sense to you." "It does."  Jay and I get out and go to a newstand that sells everything. "Morning Andrew.  Do you have the Boston Enquirer?" "Yes, Dr.Isles I saved several for you . These are selling like its gold and you four are royalty. Take these.  They are on the house.  You and your family have always been good to me and still are."  " Thanks Andrew. Andrew if anymore show up, please put several aside and call me while in town.  I will pay and pick them up. You have a good day and tell Daisy hello for me. Excuse me for my poor manners. Andrew Hodges this is Jay Halstead. " The two guys shake hands and we say our goodbyes.  "Jay while we are nearby the bakery,  lets pick up some sweets."  Jay orders several sweets as well as I. While we are waiting, we read the article.  " Dynamic Duo huh."  " Your not funny Jay. let's go back and break this to Jane. She is going to be ticked. Constance is going to get an earful which she deserves. I am going to let Jane speak with her before I do on Skype. "  We leave with our orders. We arrive at my home. "Angela. Tommy Jacqueline and James here are some sweets for your coffee. I am going to take Jane her favorite and some coffee. We are going to tell her."     "If you hear some yelling.  Please ignore it. Jane and I am going to be giving Constance an earful."
Angela says, " Maur remember she still is your mother and we both know how she is." " I know but its not right.  The announcement should of have come from one of us. Dynamic Duo who makes such a headline.  Andrew will save us several if any more appear at his  newstand." Jay and I walk upstairs and we can hear Tommy laughing.  " Jane is going to freak." "Tommy no sit your behind down. This is a private moment for them not you."  " But MA I want to see this . Fine you take all the fun out of it for me."  "Morning Jay my fiance and Maur. Can you believe it were are engaged now?" " Jane I need you to stay calm before I show you something. "  "Maur you are scarring me.  What's wrong?" Jay hands her the Boston Enquirer while I place her coffee and cinnamon roll on the night stand. "SHE DID WHAT. WHAT THE HELL. SHIT CONSTANCE HAD NO RIGHT. FUCK MAUR CONSTANCE NEVER CAN STAY OUT OF SHIT."   "Jane please calm down.  I don't need you back in the hospital.  It's only a photo and some words. We are engaged babe. Please eat your cinnamon roll and coffee we brought before Maur calls her mother."
As Jane is trying to stay calm my cell rings.
"Dr. Isles."  "Hello beautiful,  he took you off the market. I know I screwed up but if you ever change your mind. I am here Maura. It made several magazines out here already.  Big tycoon news. They published their May magazines early to get their stories out. I know I will eventually be added to it. "  " Alex I will never be interested in you. Lose my number." I  hung up on A-Rod.  "What did that asshole want now?" I wish you didn't have to have a public number. We need to find a way around it. " "He found out about the engagement and said several magazines are have their May editions out early to get a jump on it.  He said he messed up and he basically still available for me. He also stated don't be suprised if he is included in a future story."
