Nila
I continued to chop the vegetables for the breakfast whilst both Daksh and Nakshu were sleeping on the bed. Trying to forget about the words Daksh said yesterday, I was trying to focus on cooking the meal.
"Mr. Chopra, I need you to leave from my house?" I said to him without meeting his eyes.
"Why?"
"Because I don't want my daughter to get attached to you."
"Correction. She's our daughter Nila. And if I'm leaving this place, it will be only one time. Returning to Mumbai with both my girls. Else I'm not." His words were so promising that I felt myself tearing up. "Let's talk about this tomorrow when she's asleep."
I jerked a little when I heard a cough from behind. Calming myself a bit, I turned to see a shirtless Daksh looking handsome as a Greek god.
"Take a picture baby it'll last long." He smirked at me.
"You wish!" I snapped at him.
"There are so many things I wish for," I gulped when he took a step forward and stretched his left hand forward.
"W-What are you d-doing?" I found myself stammering to form a sentence. He just smirked and folded his arms at his front. I breathed heavily looking at him. He gestured me to look back, with a confused look, I gasped when I turned back to see that the breakfast was almost burnt.
"It's okay, I'm really not hungry now. So, making breakfast can wait." Daksh shrugged his shoulders. I frowned at him.
"Who said I was making breakfast for you?"
"Well, you're in the kitchen. So obviously you'll be cooking for me, right?"
"No, I'm not!"
"And you're going to eat like how you're eating these days. You can ask that grandma to continue to feed you." I smiled sarcastically at him.
"Haw, do want that old lady to think that you're not feeding the father of your child?"
"What?" I gaped at him. He shrugged his shoulders. How dare he? "What did you just say?"
"Nothing."
"Mr. Chopra don't test my patience."
"That grandma might be thinking that you're my wife."
"What?"
"Yep." He tugged me to his chest and circled his arms around my waist. "And we have some talk to finish it before our baby is up."
Telling this he dragged me to the small hall of my house. He sat down on the tugged me too and I fell right on his lap.
"What was that for?" I hissed at him.
"Well, you won't settle down if I'd pull you." He gave me a cheeky grin. "Now let's start with our conversation."
I gulped and sat on his lap not knowing what to tell him. I dreaded this type of conversation. if I open up, I'll have to live through the days which I don't want to relive. The day of seeing Akruti, Navya, and Vihaan in an unconscious state, leaving the people whom I called my family, leaving my love Daksh, moving to Chennai with Akash and his wife Ilakya, then my Nakshu and the tragedies following it. I felt the two fingers wiping the tears away which had trickled down my cheeks.
"Shh...baby."
Daksh cradled me in his arms, and I cried my heart out. I couldn't hold back my emotions. All the taunts, I've heard about, my daughter being illegitimate when she's actually not. The cheeps things I'd heard the people say and men asking me for a night when I go to work it hurts me so much to bear everything. Sometimes I'd cry to sleep myself seeing my baby sleeping peacefully. That's when I made the right decision of moving to a new place. A hill station to be precise.
