Sharav Ahuja

"Take another step, I'll chop your balls off."

I smiled hearing the words. With tears in my eyes, I turned around to see the girl who owns my heart. The girl who knows how to make me crazy, how to fall in love with her. With difficulty, she opened her eyes, and I was greeted with the most beautiful eyes in the world.

"Hey", I whispered, stroking the right cheek of her. Instead of smiling, she was glaring at me. What's the way of greeting? Removing her gaze from me, she looked around to see everyone looking at her with a teary smile. Viren stood beside my sister, with one of his hands wrapped around her.

"Thanks for everything, Navya", Viren said and Akruti nodded her head in agreement. But Navya just shook her head in response.

"Please thank me by offering me some water." It was the reply of Navya. Shit her throat would be dried. Instantly I got the glass filled with water, and I saw Prakash papa helping her to sit straight. She moved her face to the other side, when I brought the glass near her lips.

"Choco please drink", I begged her, but she nodded her head as no. Akruti took the glass from my hand and Navya drank. What the hell?

I heard Viren covering his laughter with a fake cough which did earn a glare from me. I heard everyone inquiring Navya about her health to which she responded truthfully which made everyone laugh except me.

"Guys I'm not gonna lie that it's not paining and all. To be honest, it hurts like hell. And all my muscles are sore, cause of not moving. But other than that I'm alright." She said.

With minutes passing by, the awkwardness in the room was growing. Everyone left the room with a lame excuse to give us privacy. I sat on the stool, which was placed near her bed. Hesitation filled inside me—can I touch her? Will she refuse my touch? Not wanting to take a risk, I sat quietly.

"What the hell was it Sharav? When I was starting to familiarize with the surroundings, the first thing I hear is 'Take care my love'. Who the hell do you think you are? Any sort of sacrificer who will keep one sacrificing his everything for others?" She gritted her teeth. But I was smiling like a fool here. Cause she finally talked to me.

"Why the fuck are you smiling now?"

I just shrugged my shoulders. "If you could open your mouth and talk?" Came her sarcastic words.

Exhaling loudly, I wiped my face with my hands. "You know Navya. The reason. People will only get hurt if they're in touch with me. Like you did. Like Akruti did. I failed to protect you. I fucking failed to protect you." I uttered.

She took a long breath. "What am I gonna do with you? Look Sharav you can't always protect. Sometimes there will be time when I need to face everything on my own. Without you. So don't ever think you failed to protect me. But whenever you're near me, I feel safe." Smiling at me, she gestured me to sit on the bed. "My savior don't ever think of anything else, okay?"

I nodded my head at her. It's hell irritating when I can't touch her. Her one arm in wounded and the other hand is having the trips. God! Why me?

"You know Sharav, it's actually my fault." I scrunched my face on hearing her words. How come it's her fault?

"If I haven't run away from those people, nothing would have happened like this. Everyone would've been happy in their own world. Viren bhai's parents would have been here and everyone would have been so happy in their lives. Just because of me everything collapsed."

Anger rose in me on hearing her words. How dare she accuse herself of the crime she didn't commit!

Immediately I stood from my place, and she frowned seeing my action. I was trying myself not to yell at her. It's because of her everyone is happy in their life, she's the main reason. "Don't ever think like that. You are not the reason behind this. If not for you none would've known the real face of the Ahujas. If you hadn't run away or not, my so-called parents would have tried to finish Akruti one way or the other. So don't ever blame yourself." I spoke with so much anger tracing every word of mine.
