Sharav Ahuja

Am I no one to her?

"Am I no one to you, choco?", I whispered to her. She looked at me with eyes filled with tears. Hugging me by my neck she sobbed heavily.

"No, you're my everything Sharav. B-but t-this how I felt when y-you l-let me", she cried even more. Tears even made through my eyes. I just kissed her forehead.

"I'm sorry, my choco. I'm sorry", I kept on repeating these words. I looked down to see that she's fast asleep. Walking towards my car, I somehow opened the passenger door, placed her carefully on the seat, and secured her with the seatbelt. Coming over to my side, I ignited the engine —but sent a message to her friends.

Where should I take her? To hers or mine? I should take it to hers. So I drove through the streets, and we reached her home in twenty minutes. Since it was late night there weren't many vehicles passing by.

Picking her in my arms, I stood in front of her house. God! Her parents will skin me alive literally. That's for sure! Making her stand on her feet, somehow, I pressed the doorbell, waiting for someone to answer. But none answered.

Weird!

So fishing out my mobile, I called Ruhi, and she immediately picked her phone. "Hello, Jiju!" My heart picked its pace on hearing the word 'Jiju'. Still, she thinks that I'm her Jiju even after I broke up with her sister? Gosh! What have I done!

"Umm...Ruhi are you guys at home? I'm standing outside with your sister asleep", I said whilst handling the sleepy one.

"Huh! That's so bad Jiju. No one is at home. I'm crashing today at my friend's house and our parents will stay at the Evans hotel today. They're having some oldies get together apparently", she sighed.

What will I do now!

I was screaming in my head! "Jiju I think dad would have hidden the keys behind the small box at the side of the door. Check whether it's there", she said to me, to which I nodded.

If you nod your head, how will she know you dimwit? my subconscious.

"Jiju you in there", I heard Ruhi ask me.

"Sorry, I just zoned out", I replied to which she hummed. Making Navya lie against the door, I checked the place where she said. And indeed there it was. How they just leave their house key— just like that? What if someone robs their house? Don't they care?

My thoughts about the safety of Navya's house halted when I heard Ruhi's voice again. "Jiju did you get the keys?"

"Yeah! I got it", I replied to her.

"Okay, take care of her and of course you too", saying this she hung the call before I can reply.

Locking the door, I picked up Navya again in my arms and kicked the door open. After entering, I went to Navya's room and placed her on the bed. Coming downstairs, I made sure the front door is locked and headed back to Navya's room. Lying next to her, I pulled her in my arms. She quickly snuggled to my chest, to which I smiled.

Taking a glance at the clock, it showed both the arms of the clock at twelve. Today is my girl's birthday. Looking at her face, where she's sleeping peacefully, I kissed her forehead.

"Happy birthday my love"

Navya Tandon

The idiotic rays of the sun fell on my face, disturbing my beautiful sleep. The warmness from the pillow I'm currently hugging is not allowing me to wake up, to which I snuggled more. But wait when did my pillow get an arm? There's something on my waist and the goddamn hangover too. My head is pounding. It's like the whole rock music band is playing inside my head.
