Navya Tandon

It's been three days since I reached India. And these three days are some of the best days of my life. The love and care from Viren bhai's grandparents, made me cry. I'd never experienced the love of grandparents, and now just because of Sharav, I'm enjoying every single thing. Tejpal dadu always says how he used to tease Sharav with me for four years.

The one thing which shook me to the core was, that Sharav had a crush on me for the past four years. From the time I came to know this, I tease the hell out of him that he blushes like a teenage girl.

I'm so lucky to have him as my boyfriend, as the love of my life. I don't know what made him sneak into the Khanna mansion twice, and he got caught both times! My god the way everyone teased us, wanted me to bury myself deep inside the earth.

And now Sharav and I are going to visit my parents — Prakash Chabra and Kalyani Chabra. Sharav was driving whilst I made myself comfortable in the passenger seat. I was sweating so much, even when the atmosphere inside the car was cold. Am I ready to meet them? What will I do when the moment I see them? I'm meeting them after two decades. Man, I'm worrying way too much.

"Hey, everything will be alright." Sharav's voice made me calm a little. Just a little. He might not understand my state. I'm so excited at the same time anxious. But why am I anxious, I don't know what to say! All the time during the drive, Sharav was drawing circles in my right hand which was held by his left hand. That one action of him soothed me. It calmed down my bubbling nerves.

He parked the car outside the house. It was a cute little home. I was trembling, shaking with some unknown feelings. Sharav wrapped his arms around me to calm me down. Kissing my forehead, he cupped my face. "Everything is gonna be good", he said to me, to which I nodded my head.

Exhaling out loudly, I entwined my hands with him. "Let's go," I said to him. He gave me a smile which was good enough to lift my mood. Opening the gates of the house, we walked inside. Sitting on of the chairs in the garden, I saw my papa reading a newspaper with his reading glass. Tears welled up in my eyes. It's my papa. My father.

Sharav squeezed my hands. I bit back a sob. Then I saw a lady — not any lady, my mother walking with a tray to the place where my papa was sitting. They both look the same. Just their hairs have turned white. Sensing someone was standing in their garden the couple turned towards us. My breath got stuck in my throat.

"Breath choco!", Sharav reminded me to do. Nodding at him, I did the same. My parents got up from their place and started walking towards us. My feet were begging me to run away from here. I didn't dare to meet them. To meet my parents.

"It's been a long time Sharav! How are you?", my papa asked him. Smiling at me, he engulfed Sharav in a hug.

"I'm fine uncle, what about you?", Sharav asked him to which he nodded his head. Then Sharav greeted my mother who stood in her place on seeing me.

"You look, familiar dear, what's your name?", my mother questioned me. Tears welled in my eyes. No mother should face this type of situation. To recognize their child.

"N-Navya", I crocked.

"Beautiful girl you are! Your parents must be so lucky to have you as their daughter", my mother gently cupped my face. That's it I couldn't hold anymore. I just hugged my mother and cried. In an instant, she hugged me back. I felt safe again, to be in my mother's arm.

"Sh! Why are you crying beta! ", my mother tried to shush me. "Sharav why is crying like this?", I heard my mother ask him.

"Because she's finally in the arms of her mother— her birth mother."
