Psst... a warning. Long Chapter ahead ;)
Nila
I kept looking at the guy in front of me. He'd called me a mistake, not just any mistake but a beautiful mistake. But that day- I gasped in realization. He must have said the same on that day too.
Shit! Shit!
I ruined everything between us. But then, he let me go too. He didn't search for me. But what made him search for me? I really want to know what talks these guys had. Determined to know that day's happening, I marched towards the room where he's playing with Nakshatra.
A smile graced my lips when I saw Daksh playing peek-a-boo with her. The rich giggles of Nakshatra filled the whole room. Daksh squealed at me when he noticed me. "Nila now I found a way for our baby to distract her when she throws tantrums." His face was bright, as bright as a Christmas tree.
"And what's that?" I asked him. Kissing my cheeks, he ran back to the baby playing with her toys scattered on the bed. Leaning against the door frame, I watched Daksh placing Nakshatra on the floor, whose lips instantly started to quiver. Yep, she doesn't like to be placed on the floor. Her eyes teared up, and I was about to reach her when Daksh stopped me.
"Wha-?"
The next set of words died in my mouth as I watched the scene in front of me. Daksh was holding the charger cable with his left hand and kneeled in front of her. I noticed the way Nakshatra's eyes brightening up. But again, her eyes teared up when Daksh held it a little up, making it impossible for her tiny arms to reach. A chuckle escaped my lips.
"This is it, huh?" I smirked at him.
"Nope."
A frown etched on my face. Signing I was about to near the duo when Daksh raised his hands to stop me. "What Daksh?" I was slightly getting irritated.
"Now wait for the magic!" He grinned at me.
I sighed. Loudly. Daksh scowled at me but then turned his attention to the girl in front of him. I saw him standing on his feet, and gestured me to move back a little. Groaning I did. This excuse of a human was testing my patience.
"Princess come here and get this." He cooed at her and started walking towards me still waving the cable in front of her. A smile threatened to leave my lips when Nakshatra instantly started crawling wherever Daksh went. I laughed when he started going in circles with the little girl still following him.
"See, I found a way to make her laugh."
Shaking my head at him, I went to the little girl and picked her up. She kissed my cheeks and rested her head near the crook of my neck. Daksh pouted looking at us.
"Now talk about this discovery of mine."
"Useless, just like you." I fake smiled at him.
"Hey, you can call me useless but not my idea."
Ignoring him, I walked through the hall and sat on the front porch of our little home. I giggled when I heard Daksh whining. Settling beside me, he rested his head on my shoulder and started tickling the little girl.
"How come my idea is useless?"
"Because toddlers tend to follow you when you have an interesting thing in your hand."
"Really?"
"Yeah really."
Silence washed over us, I looked down to see Nakshatra sleeping peacefully. Since she's a heavy sleeper, I can ask Daksh about the day everything happened.
