Clark POV

Picking up the bell of hay with ease I began to distribute this morning's breakfast to the horses in the stables. After the horses were fed I moved on to this year's crops that would soon be started by my mother. Thanks to the speed I possessed, I moved along the large field plowing and planting the seeds for this year's crops. From then on I turned my gaze toward the old barn and began to fix up the old barn a bit before taking a small break on the front porch.

After spending more time with Lana and a few others from Smallville I had come to the decision to be a helping hand around the farm. Quietly, leaving Mia in the room, I placed on my old, torn t-shirt that read Smallville, faded jeans, and muddy boots preparing for a hard day's work. Waking up a little just before the sun rose, making my way out the door.

Since the few days, I had been back with my family and being in the peaceful countryside of farmlands I had this new feeling come over me, a sense.

Taking in a breath I appreciated the fresh, dewy air and watched the sunrise as I leaned back against the porch railing. My heartbeat quickened and a smile graced my lips as I looked around my childhood home. Old memories flooded my mind as I looked around the place, a new appreciation washing over me.

"Hey," Removing my head from the railing I turned to see Mia standing by the opened screen door. "You okay? I woke up and you weren't there." Worry was evident on her face as she pulled my hoodie down further over her mid-thigh.

I ran a hand through my hair, nodding my head as I gave her a small smile. "Yeah, I'm just enjoying the quiet moment in the quiet countryside before we head back to the city."

She looked at me for a moment before nodding her head in understanding. "Your mother made breakfast and Lana made everyone coffee."

I smiled. "I'll be there in a few minutes." I turned my head and looked at the rising sun over the wide field.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Mia asked a look of concern on her face as she examined me.

I closed my eyes for a moment, releasing a breath. "Why does that question feel like something Bruce would ask?" Hearing soft footsteps walk over to me I felt a hand lay on my shoulder.

Mia wrapped her arms around my bicep, laying her head on my shoulder. "I know, but...a lot has happened recently and-"

"I know, but it'll be okay," I assured her, placing my hand over her soft one. "We'll be okay. Just one day at a time."

"By the way, you look really...tempting in my hoodie?" I smirked, looking over my shoulder. Mia's smooth legs looked inviting wearing nothing but my shirt.

"Don't get any ideas, farmboy." She warned playfully. "Your mother and Lana are in the next room."

"Mia, we can always head over to the old barn over there." I looked over toward the old family barn, Mia following my gaze.

She smirked, then placed her lips against mine.

"Everything was delicious, Mrs. Kent." I heard Lana's voice coming from the kitchen as Mia walked up the porch steps. I felt Mia's gaze as we walked through the living room, a wide playful smile stretched across her face. I smiled back and squeezed her hand as I kissed her cheek.

"Well, there they are." My mother looked up from her coffee as Mia and I entered the room. "Clark must have been by the lake, Mia. I sent you to get, Clark nearly half an hour ago." A knowing smirk came upon my mother's face as she brought her coffee mug to her lips taking a sip. I had the urge to roll my eyes at my mother's playfulness and laugh when I saw Mia's brown eyes widen.
