That Familiar Friendly Smile

The Following Day

I had gotten up early to prepare breakfast for Bruce. I know that the hotel he is in probably serves breakfast, but I just wanted to spend as much time with him as I can. He is a very busy businessman. After I made his breakfast I made my way over to the hotel he is staying in. He texted me the other the other day he is staying at Central Springs one the most expensive hotels in Central City.

I walked up to his door trying to decide was it a good idea to come unannounced with breakfast in my hand. What if he is still sleep? What if he already ordered breakfast? It was too late now I was already knocking on the door with my free hand.

A few moments later I heard footsteps making its way to the door. Each stepping sound caused my heart to beat faster. Suddenly the door opened to an unexpected sight. Bruce sweaty and shirtless. I almost melted where I stand.

Bruce had a surprised look on her face. "Mia, what are you doing here?"

"I...uhm...I just wanted to give you a good morning breakfast." I said tearing my eyes away from his chest.

Bruce smiled. "Thanks, Mia. Come in." He said opening the door wider. "Sorry, I'm all sweaty. I just got back from the gym downstairs." He said as we walked further in the suite.

I turned to look at his body again. 'No I don't mind at all.' I thought looking at his back as he was turned from me setting the plate down on the table.

"Mia, the food looks good." He said. I couldn't help the joy I felt when he complimented my cooking.

"T-thanks, Bruce." I said tucking a loose string hair behind my ear.

"So, what's on the agenda today?" He asked then taking a bit of his eggs.

"I'm not sure. What do you want to do?"

Bruce wiped his mouth then spoke. "Well I have not had coffee, yet."

"I can't believe that you like straight up black coffee." I said as I watch him drink his coffee. We were currently at Jitters having a coffee. Well I on the other hand was having hot chocolate.

"I like my coffee just like my women." I looked at Bruce surprised while he just smirked at me.

"So, you really are going to Metropolis?" He said starting conversation.

"Yeah. I'm really excited."

"Well I'm happy for you Mia. Just be careful with that alien flying around the city."

I rolled my eyes at Bruce. Here we go again. "Bruce, what is your problem with him?"

Bruce just gave me a hard look that said 'Seriously?' "Do I really have to say it? He is responsible for half the people's death that was in my building that day." He said obviously angry just thinking about it. "I don't understand why you admire him so much." Bruce just stared at me until his phone buzzed.

"Bruce-"

"I'm sorry Mia, but I have to cut this day with you short. I'm needed in the office." He said looking at his phone.

"Oh okay." I said disappointed that our time was cut short and it ended on us having a bad argument.

We both stood up and gave each other a good-bye hug. "Good luck in Metropolis Mia." He said leaving a tip on the table and walking out the building.
