Mia's POV
"Clark, I wish that you can take me with you." I said as I watch Clark put on his suit as Superman.
"I know Mia, but I need to do this alone." Clark said. I nodded my head in understanding. "Don't worry about me everything will be fine." Clark held my cheeks between his hands and peck my lips then made his way to his balcony.
"Clark." Clark stopped and turned back to face me. "You know who you are. Don't change who you are for anyone." Clark smiled and nodded his head. He then made his way to the balcony and took off into the sky toward Washington, DC. The Capitol.
I look up toward the sky only getting a barely a glimpse of Clark in the sky due to him moving so fast. That view will never get old. I then moved away from the balcony and made my way over to the living room. I plan to stay in Clark's apartment and watch the trial live as I prayed for a miracle.

Washington, DC, The Capitol
3rd POV
Clark looked down at the crowd under him. He could hear the protest against him and see the signs of anti-alien. Even though he was strong he still needed strength to get through this. He knew this meeting was going to be brutal, but he was going to keep his head held high.
Clark landed in front of the crowd of protesters and made his way in the Capitol building. Clark ignored the crowd of protesters and walked in the building with a brave face. The people in the building stopped and stared at the man of steel in surprise that he actually showed up.
Heads turned as Superman walked through the doors of the courtroom. Clark just continued to keep his head high and made his way to the podium. Once in front of the podium he crossed his hands in front of him and waited for the Senator to speak.
"Let me just say that I am grateful for our witness for coming to us today." The Senator began pointing toward the man in the wheelchair. Clark turned toward the man in the wheelchair as he received a hateful glare from him. Mia was right he was behind this calling for trial. "This is how a democracy works. We talk to each other. We act by the consent of the governed, sir." The Senator gave him a hard look as she continued to speak. Clark could still feel the hard glare of the man beside his right side. Clark could not only feel the hate from him and the senator, but also for most people in the room. He would be lying if he said he did not feel hurt. He then turned his attention back to the senator trying to stay strong as ever.
"...only by speaking-" The senator ceased her speech as something caught her eye on her desk. "..only by working can we..." She then looked back at her desk. The look of nervousness and fear were expressed on her face. Clark raised his brow in confusion at her odd behavior.
"Together can we...c-can we..." Almost everyone in the crowd gave her a confused look as she began to turn something on her desk. The Senator suddenly gasped at looked toward Superman then toward the man in the wheelchair in fear. Clark looked toward the man's direction, but it was too late.
