The next day I woke up bright and early. I wanted to be sure that I got there on time. The drive to Metropolis is a four hour trip. So, I had to get up early which was a struggle.

I quickly made my way into the bathroom and quickly took a shower. Then I got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my waist as I went to my closet to find something nice to wear. When I found the outfit I wanted I put it on and made my way into the bathroom again to put my makeup on. When all that was finish I put a hot pocket in the microwave to eat on the road. After my hot pocket was done I grabbed a water bottle, my keys and purse and headed out the door.

.....

The whole drive there I was beyond nervous. I tried to think of other things to get my mind off my interview, but it just keep rolling back to it. What if I don't get the job? What if remain unemployed? It wasn't like the employers were seeking out a black face as quick as a white one, but I can't that stop me.

Eventually I had finally made it to the Daily Planet. After getting lost a few times no thanks to that stupid GPS. I got out the car and stretched my back until it made a pop sound. My butt and my back hurt for sitting down for so long, but hopefully my suffering will be worth it if I get this job.

I looked toward the Daily Planet and noticed how beautiful it was with Earth on top of the building. I then looked at my watch and notice I had twenty minutes to spare, so with that I made my way into the building. When I got inside it was just as beautiful as it was on the outside.

I then saw the reception desk a few feet away from me and made my way over to it. "Excuse me." I said getting the lady's attention. She looked up at me and gave me a friendly smile. "Yes may I help you?"

"Yes, I'm here for the 9am interview with Mr. Perry White."

Then the lady turned to her computer and began to type. "Oh, yes. You can just go down the hall there." She said pointing to my right. "And take the first elevator and go to the top floor. The first thing you should see his assistance desk and outside of his office."

"Okay. Thanks."

"Anytime."

I followed the lady's instructions and made my way over to the elevator. I pressed the button to go to the top floor. As I waited for the elevator to reach the floor I wanted I went over what I was going to say in the interview. "You can do this, Mia." I said out loud. I then felt my phone vibrate in my pocket Iris had texted me.

Iris: Hey r u at the Daily Planet yet?

As I was texting the elevator ding when I reached my floor. I began to walk out as the doors opened and I began to text her back.

Me: Yeah, I'm heading to Mr. White's office n-

I didn't get a chance to finish my text as I ran into what felt like a hard wall. My phone, a stack of papers, and a coffee fell to the ground with the coffee spilling all over the my phone and coffee.

"Oh my god. You gotta be kidding me." I said frustrated as I squatted down to get my phone.

"I am so sorry. Here let me get that for you." I heard a deep voice say as I saw a pair of hands trying to help me get my phone.

I shook my head and began to look up at him. "No its-" I cut my sentence short with the most beautiful blue glass framed eyes I had ever seen. Then I looked to see that he had black hair with a few curls tempting me to run my finger through them and those soft pink lips. I wonder how they would feel on my lips. I finally snapped out of it and focused back on the situation at hand. "No, uhm, I'm sure my phone is fine." I said giving him a friendly smile as helped pick up the papers and the coffee he dropped and stood up. Usually, I would be really pissed and ready to smack someone for touching let alone ruining my phone, but I think his sexiness has numbed my fury.

The man did the same offering a very and friendly smile making me smile harder at him. "N-no, I should be sorry. I should have looked where I was going." He said. "Here let me try to clean this for you." He said as he began to rub my phone on his shirt.

Without thinking I put my hand on top of his to stop him. He looked at my hand on his and looked back at me with a blush on his face. Did I make him nervous? "No. it's fine really." I said handing him his stuff back. "I should have looked where I was going."

"Maybe we both should pay more attention." He said handing my phone back. His eyes widen a little at what he just said. "I mean...uhm, not that you are careless and all but...I hum." He said getting nervous rubbing the back of his neck.

I laughed a little at his reaction. "It's cool I know what you meant." I looked at my watch and saw I only had two minutes to spare. I stuck my hand out and said. "Well, it was nice talking to you, Mr...."

"Oh, Kent. Clark Kent." He said shaking my hand lightly, almost carefully as if he was going to break it.

"I'm Mia Jones." I said shaking his hand. "Well hopefully I will see you around." I said walking away. As I walked away I could feel him still staring at me from behind. I tried to pay no attention to him and focus on the interview. Though it was hard not to, he is attractive.

.....

I was sitting in Mr. White's office as he looked over my resume once again. I fiddled with my finger nervously as I waited for his decision.

"So, Miss Jones-"

"Oh just Mia is fine." I said interrupting. Mr. White just looked at me. "Oh, sorry." I said lowly.

"Well Mia I it says that you attend. You went to Forest University and that you graduated with a majored in journalism." He said pointing at my resume.

"Yes sir I did and I wrote for the university paper as well." I said.

"Hum, if that's the case. How come you spent three years since you graduated college an assistant at Central City's paper?"

'Because my old boss is a stuck up jerk.' Is what I wanted to say, but instead I said, "Well I was working my way up to be a reporter. I just never had the chance to prove myself that I am a good reporter."

Mr. White sat there for a minute and rubbed the small beard he was growing as he sat there in thought. After a few minutes he spoke up. "Since to me you are well qualified for the reporters job I will give you the job, but you must prove yourself in order to keep this job. If not you will be fired as fast as you got hired. Understand?"

"Yes sir."

"Good you will start a week from today. Don't make me regret it."

I stood up and reached over to shake his hand. "Thank you sir. I will not let you down." With that I left out of the office I could not contain my excitement. I'm finally am a reporter.
