When the Stars Align

Chapter 6

"(L/N)! You've got mail!!"

It had been about a week since the U.A. entrance exams. You hadn't been waiting for any type of letter because, let's face it, everyone in the staff knew you would be attending due to your position with the Commission. So when Yamada came bursting into your temporary room with your guardian and Kayama in tow, you could only guess at what you were possibly receiving.

"Wait, what? What do you mean 'mail'?"

"It's exactly as you heard it, little listener! This was inside the mailbox with your name written all over it! Take a peak inside, kiddo!"

Turning to Aizawa for confirmation, he gives a firm nod, gesturing to the thick envelope still in the loud blondes hands. Snatching it from him, you open it up, a round metallic disk and a folded up peace of paper landing on your desk. 

When no one makes a move towards you, you take the disk, turning it over as you inspect it with curiosity. Suddenly, it begins to glow, a projection forming right in front of you to reveal All Mights smiling face.

"I am here!! In this projection."

You stay quiet, a bit dumbfounded by the fact that, yes, you were receiving an acceptance letter and video even though you all knew you would be allowed in.

Clearing his voice, All Might continued. "While there would usually be many things to deliberate on before sending these letters out, I think we all know the circumstances we find ourselves in, so this acceptance won't be the same as the others. Even so, I'd like to begin by expressing how amazing and courageous you were in that exam!'

"You didn't stop at just defeating those faux Villains, you also risked your well-being in favor of helping and protecting those most vulnerable in those last moments when the 'gimmick' came into play. Not many people had the guts to stick around, but you did so without a second thought." As he spoke, another screen began to play behind him, displaying all of the fighting and saving you had done just days prior.

"That spirit is what the Hero world needs, and I'm glad to see you'll be working so closely with our societies future protectors. Lets hope that tenacity of yours rubs off on the others!" Hands over his hips, All Might gave a hearty laugh, striking his well known pose.

"Before I give you your official score and rank, I must inform you that we didn't just focus on Villain-based points. Rescue points were also a huge factor when evaluating your performance!" The screen behind All Might changed once more, showing you the official ranking chart with the top ten examinees names, Villain/rescue points, and their overall score.

Looking through the list, your eyes widen slightly as they land on your own name. "(Y/N) (L/N), you earned fifty three Villain-based points and twenty three rescue points! Adding those up, you earned a total of seventy six points in the practical portion of the exam, pulling ahead and landing in second place!"

You had never felt so... good. In that moment, you felt like you had done the impossible. All Mights praise was something you never thought you would receive, so seeing the huge Pro give you that award winning smile made you crack a small one of your own.

Small hoots and cheers could be heard behind you, Kayama and Yamada reacting excitedly to All Mights statements. You turned to them, small smile still on your face as you returned their happiness with a hesitant thumbs up.

"Remember (L/N), although you may not stay with us long, know that your efforts aren't in vain. You are proving your worth more than anyone could have hoped for and I'm glad to have you on our side." Bowing towards the screen, All Mights giant grin fills your vision once more, "This will be your Hero academy!"
