'Ding, Dong, Ding...!'

The end of the school day had finally come, with the entire class moving as one towards the door. Groans of confusion and exhaustion filled the air all at once, as did the heavy shuffling of feet.

It was obvious no one was looking forward to working on the mountains of homework that was assigned for the day, plates already piled high with the fruits of knowledge they'd have to digest in only mere hours.

And to think, most of this information would be forgotten in just a few days time, more and more future work soon to take over whatever was currently being taught.

Even with knowing that in the backs of your minds, you and your peers steeled yourselves all the same, marching languidly towards the exit in order to head home and start on the expected packets.

"Whoaa... what's going on?!"

Or, maybe not.

There, crowding the threshold, stood a large group of students, chatter of all types creating a heavy atmosphere that no one could ignore. Sure, it wasn't like your class was the only one in attendance at such a prestigious school, but to have what you assumed to be the entire first year student body suddenly materialize out of thin air was...

"No way! What're they here for?"

"Scoping out the competition, duh, small fry. Cause we're the kids who survived a Villain attack. Makes sense they'd want a look before the Sports Festival."

Ah, right. You'd neglected to remember that after this morning, if that were at all possible.

And, while you wouldn't have phrased it the way he had, Bakugous words definitely held some truth to them.

"No point, though. Move aside, cannon fodder."

"Can we please not resort to calling those we don't even know 'cannon fodder'?!"

Yup, you certainly wouldn't have phrased it that way.

Before anyone can respond, violently or otherwise, a looming presence makes itself known, that being a tall male pushing to stand front and center. "It's true. We came to take a look, but you sure are modest. Are all the kids in the Hero Course like this one?"

"Huh?!"

Finally in front of your cornered class, the student rubs at his neck despondently, dark eyes scanning all of you before sighing tiredly. "Gotta say, I'm a little disillusioned if this is what you're offering."

He scoffs, more to himself than to anyone else, hand and face lowering, making his perpetual eye bags pop darkly on his otherwise fair face. "Those of us who didn't make the Hero Course are stuck in General Studies and the other tracks. There're quite a few of us. Did you know that?"

Your classmates buzzed to attention at the information, looking to one another in different types of shock.

Yes, of course you had known. While you didn't know much of his life at U.A. all those years back, Aizawa had made mention of how unfair the entrance exams could be for certain students who lacked in the Quirk department, carrying a certain disdain for them altogether.

It wasn't because the examinees weren't strong enough or because they hadn't reached a high enough mastery of their power; it was often due to the fact that their Quirks lacked flexibility against robotic foes. There wasn't a fair enough way to test them otherwise, so they often fell to the background, usually more than content to at least make it inside U.A.s impressive walls.
