Although Shouta was still against the idea of depending on you for extra help, he had to admit that you made for okay company.
He'd taken a few days off his usual routine of heading over to U.A. to begin the paperwork for the next school year in favor of making sure you felt comfortable at his place. It was a bit awkward at first, he never really interacted with kids outside of just regular classwork and training or when doing Hero work, so he was a little lost as to what exactly it is that kids your age did for fun. When he tried to look back on his own teen years, he found nothing of use or that might be of interest to you (Unless you count getting your eardrums constantly blown out fun).
But, as the days went by and the more you both had become used to the other's presence, he could feel the beginning strain of co-inhabiting lessening.
Not to add, it helped that you were a simple creature, and one of habit as well.
You always woke early, helped yourself to whatever cup of coffee or tea he could spare, cleaned the house, then spent your time cooped up in the spare room he had given you. What you did for the whole day, he hadn't a clue, but you always stepped out at five PM exactly and offered to help make dinner if takeout wasn't already on the table.
Even with that rough start at the Commission, you were polite beyond your years, an air of professionalism always surrounding you at all hours of the day. While it wasn't much of a surprise, everyone at the HPSC was obnoxiously polite to the point where it bordered on being fake, he had expected a bit of push back from you on many fronts.
It was obvious his place was nothing like what you were probably housed in with the Commission and after that awkward first encounter, he had figured you would want to make him miserable as retaliation for the unintended insult he had dealt you with. He had also assumed you would want to keep interactions to a minimum or only when absolutely necessary, or that you would not respect him enough as a person of authority.
But, you took everything in stride. You made an effort to acknowledge Shouta, even if it was just a small morning greeting in passing and you had even begun to remember his own routine, a second cup of already made hot coffee and one of his small store bought pastries staring up at him from his countertop when he finally woke up.
It seemed you had also made sure to wipe whatever trace of yourself you had inadvertently left behind in certain rooms. All dishes were put back in their place and not a single thing was moved or used in the hallway closet and bathroom even though he'd made sure you knew where the general toiletries were if you needed them. He figures you had done it more for his sake than your own, but he could appreciate the thought behind it.
Like he would be able to forget someone being forcibly encroached on his alone time that easily.
Still, technicalities aside, it was sort of nice to see someone other than himself inhabiting these beige walls. It helped make the place seem alive in a way that it had not been in a while. Maybe he would look into getting that Tabby cat down at the shelter when things were said and done work wise.
As the developments went positively, and there were no other issues to sort out between the two, Shouta found it alright to finally start going back to U.A.. He had told the staff he had been overcome by a beginning Spring fever, a small lie that would hold the tide over until he finally had to let the rest of them know of the position they would all be put under. No one had had any qualms against him staying away, but now that he had stayed home for almost a whole week without answering his phone, someone or two was bound to come looking for him.
So, off to work he went again, a new type of spring in his step when he walked out of the house after giving you a curt 'Goodbye' as he left you to your own devices. You had not said a word to him then and you didn't say a word after he made it home for the day either, food already made and on the table for dinner like if it were a common occurrence for the two of you.
