- 2 Days Before the Sports Festival -
"So... how does your shitty Quirk work. I still don't like that move you pulled back when we first sparred."
It was late now, the sun setting far past the unspoken designated time you both were required to spend out training, if the muffled chirping of crickets was any indication. Usually, Bakugou would always be the first one to stomp out of the grounds while you hobbled after him, making sure the place was neat before closing it up for other students and staff to use the next day.
Well, as neat as it could be, what with the blondes explosive tendencies.
It was a bit cold out at this hour, seeing as it was still early May, so you'd made the decision to continue the training indoors for the day, lest you both catch a cold before the festival could even begin. The blonde had found it unnecessary at first, until you admitted that you'd had a bit of help setting the room up for training. That had been enough to pique his interest, mumblings of nepotism on the tip of his tongue as you both entered the gym carefully.
In truth, it wasn't much, but you had thought it could prove entertaining.
With the help of Cementoss, Gym Gamma had changed to become a mini maze of sorts, with trapped 'Villains' looming inside, represented by various tall, cement blocks. Overall, the goal had been to see who could capture the most criminals while inside, each of you keeping track of the number of knocked foes to give one another after you reconvened.
It was just meant to be a little exercise, mainly to strengthen your search abilities, but as always, it became a little hectic by the time the blocks had begun to dwindle, each of you leaving a mark behind to let the other know that that specific 'Villain' had already been found. You were pretty sure Bakugou had cheated in the end, pulling ahead of you with two more captured foes, even though you'd first stated no Quirks were meant to be used other than to mark where you'd already trudged through.
In the end, all fifty faux Villains had been accounted for, the training taking up a majority of the afternoon, much to your surprise.
And now, here you were, both of you unwilling to leave the gym just yet even though there wasn't a point in sticking around anymore. You couldn't go just yet, however, not until the blonde made his way out first, so you settled as best as you could, sitting as you tried to catch your breath. "It's like I said before; I can manipulate any type of water to use as needed."
"Uh huh. Somehow, I'm not buying any of that."
You shrugged, stretching out your legs in front of you as you replied, "You don't need to know anymore than that. Are you going to explain how your Quirk works to me?"
"Ya right! You just wanna get a leg up on your opponent!"
You hummed, quickly pointing out his hypocrisy. "You could argue that, sure, but then; how is that any different than what you're asking for?"
Bakugou grunted, kicking up some stray pieces of cement he'd let loose on the gym floor, haughtily deflecting your question with another of his own. "You tryna say I'm a cheater? 'Cause that's rich coming from the chick that's got the schools Pros in her pocket."
You couldn't help the small roll of your eyes, nose scrunching up in distaste at his repeated mention of your entrance into the school. He'd brought it up numerous times now in the last two weeks that, frankly, you couldn't feel anything but tired of it. "Could you knock it off? It's... annoying to hear you talk about the staff. What are you trying to prove with that anyways?"
The blonde scoffed, your inquiry going unanswered as he turned fully towards the built maze, intent on ignoring you like he's done many times before.
Slightly irritated, you glance at the exit while he looks the other way, tempted to walk out the door at the expense of being reprimanded if the room proved to be locked incorrectly. In reality, there was nothing tethering you to this place anymore, not even that bothersome favor you'd been charged with. After today, you wouldn't even have to look Bakugous way unless absolutely necessary, barring whatever future class activities you'd have.
