After picking up a gym uniform, you made your way to the locker rooms with Uraraka in tow.
You soon found that when Uraraka was nervous, she would slightly stick to whoever was close enough and become quiet. Gone was the bubbly girl that you had talked to only a few moments prior and in her place stood a sweating and trembling mess.
You didn't know how to provide comfort so you opted to just stay with her rather than walk off, hoping that your presence helped her in some way. Plus, she too was helping ebb away the stress that had piled on you in the morning, letting you relax a bit.
Before walking in, you noticed a paper on the door, showing the assigned locker numbers each student had. Uraraka leaned in to get a better look and beamed at the realization that your lockers were close together. At least she seemed less tense.
The locker room was as spacious as you remembered it, white walls shining cleanly due to florescent lighting overhead. It was a shame, really, that the group of girls was so small. The room felt quite empty because of it, it's sheer size making you feel tiny in comparison.
Small bits of chatter could be heard as you dressed, but from what you could tell, it was all common pleasantries. You hoped no one new would approach you today. You didn't think you could handle anymore new people at the moment.
Finally, both you and Uraraka began the walk to the grounds after dressing out, heading in the direction that Aizawa had instructed. The pattering of feet and nervous excitement could be heard, all of class 1-A walking out to the field at the same time.
Aizawas hunched form was visible after a couple of seconds, eyes impassive as they moved over the group. Your eyes met briefly, a small nod the only type of greeting you received from him. You didn't make any gesture back, knowing that you'd be able to catch up with him at the end of the day anyways.
A sigh can be heard from the older man, eyes lidded with sleep as he officially began the first class. "Now that you're all here, let's begin. Today, you will all be taking part of a testing of sorts that involves your Quirks."
A random voice cut through the air, "A test... of our Quirks?"
Uraraka looked around, brows furrowed as she asked, "But, what about the entrance ceremony?! Or the guidance sessions-?!"
Aizawa cut her off much like he had in the classroom. "There's no time to waste on that stuff if you want to become Heroes."
Quiet murmurs breached the air as everyone began to question the supposed teacher before them. You could just imagine the thoughts circulating everyone's minds. If you hadn't known Aizawa beforehand, you might've been in the same boat.
Another sigh, this one longer, "Look, U.A. is known for its 'Freestyle' educational system and that applies to us teachers as well."
Still, no one seems to catch on to what Aizawa wants and you can see him grow annoyed at the blank faces staring back at him. Raising his hand in the air, he lists off the tests that should be of common knowledge to anyone who had attended school. "Softball throwing, the standing long jump, the fifty meter dash, endurance running, grip strength, side-to-side stepping, upper body training, the seated toe touch."
There's a beat of silence as everything clicks to the students, then, "You did all these in middle school, right? They're your standard no-Quirks-allowed gym tests."
Those exercises were familiar to you. You always participated in a yearly examination at the Commission and they always did these as a part of their testing. Both with and without Quirks. These would be a simple enough task for you and a great way for you to gauge out the other's abilities.
