Collapsed

After the fight, we were all rushed to the principal, Mr. Windsor's office. The secretary gave me a glass of water and told Jones, Rose Summer, Honey, and I to sit down. Mr. Windsor was talking to Daniel's friends about the situation as we sat outside. I rubbed my neck, trying to focus on breathing.

The doors flew open, out stepped several worried parents. Jones's mom, who seemingly left work to come here, stood angry in front of the group. Honey's mother looked saddened as she saw us. Rose Summer's parents looked shocked as they walked into the office. My own mother didn't even bother to look at me.

"What were you thinking?" Jones's mother yelled as she grabbed onto Jones's arm.

"I-" Jones started, but Daniel's friends and their parents walked out of the principal's office. The principal called us in.

"Will finish this later." Jones's mother brushed her hair back with her hand, and everyone followed into the office. My friends and I took a seat as our parents stood behind us.

"As you know, your children participated in a fight within our school. This type of behavior is unexpectable, and if you all keep up this behavior I will have to expel you." Mr. Windsor started. His voice drowned out in my ears. I looked around the room, trying to read everyone's emotions. However, only one thought remained in my mind, where was Daniel? "As punishment, 6 weeks of detention." The principal ended. I watched everyone's faces light up with anger and fear.

"You can't do this! It'll ruin Oasis's records!" Mrs. Jones yelled. Oasis facepalmed and looked at me with an annoyed face.

"Your daughter's grade aren't exactly perfect, Ma'am." Mr. Windsor responded calmly. This sent Jones's mom into a rage. For an awkward 20 minutes, everyone stood around waiting to leave while Jones's mom yelled at the principal. Jones silently begged her to stopped, but Mrs. Jones was already enraged.

Eventually, the assistant principal ushered everyone outside. "Rue, I'd actually like to speak to you." Mr. Windsor got up from their desk and put their hand on my shoulder. I looked at them, his expression was sympathetic. I sat back down on a chair. Mr. Windsor did the same.

"I wanted to talk to you about Mr. Farrents" Mr. Windor started. "It's come to my attention that during the fight, Mr. Farrents had attacked you for seemingly no reason." I nodded. "Well, we called his parents, and they haven't seen him. I was wondering if you had any idea where Mr. Farrents might be and why he attacked you." I felt like someone threw a weight on my chest. I shook my head, even though I did know why he attacked me. "Alright." Mr. Windor's face was solemn, but his eyes were sad, "You may leave."

I carried my body outside, even though my entire being wanted to collapse on the floor. As I got into my mom's car, she screamed at me. The entire drive, I sat still while she yelled at me. But honestly, I could care less. I walked into my room as my mother continue to scream. I felt bad for our neighbors. I collapsed on my bed, falling asleep immediately.
