Chapter Twenty Five

I gave Trent a ride to the castle and my new pet, Savage, was with me. I drove to my parents castle and finally arrived. I burst through the doors with Savage on my heels. My parents were reading and saw the dog they jumped up. They pretended to be scared.

"Cut with the act I know you lied to me about what I really am." I stated in anger. My father sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"Kayla, we can explain." My mother stated.

"Yeah well you better be quick because I'm starting to get mad." I shouted and my parents looked at my eyes. Fear clouded their eyes and they bowed their heads to avoid eye contact.

"We consider ourselves to be your real parents." My 'father' started.

"Wait, I thought I was your long lost daughter!" I interrupted.

"You are our long lost daughter, but you're not our biological daughter." My 'mother' stated. I let it sink in and I just broke down into tears.

"I-I am so confused! You tell me the people who raised me weren't my parents, but that you guys are. Then you tell me you're not my biological parents. What am I? Where do I belong?" I yelled and Savage cuddled into my side trying to soothe me.

"You are our daughter, biologically or not, we still want you to take over our throne." My father stated. "You have a wonderful mate who cares very much for you. You belong with him and his family."

"But, who are my biological parents?" I asked in desperation.

"Do you really want to know?" My mom asked and I nodded. She sighed and looked at my dad. "We will take you to him when we think you're ready, but for now you need to take over the throne."

"I need to get home to Eric. I will visit you when I come up with my decision." I said and left. I didn't hug them goodbye or anything. I got in my brand new car with Savage in the back. We started the drive home. We got home and walked in the house. Eric still wasn't back yet so I took Savage upstairs to our room. I pulled a blanket out of the closet and put it down for Savage. He laid down and I changed for bed. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

I was awoke to Eric freaking out. "Kayla come on get out of here its a hellhound." Eric shouted and I shot up. Savage was in an attack position and growled at Eric. I jumped up out of the bed and stood in front of Eric.

"Savage, Down!" I ordered and he immediately calmed down. "Lay down and go to bed." Savage turned and laid down. I walked over and pet him. "Good boy."

"Kayla get away from that thing!" Eric exclaimed. Savage growled again and I snapped my fingers.

"Its okay Eric, he's my pet. It appears that my so called parents were lying to me." I stated and explained the whole story to him. He sighed and looked at Savage.

"Do we get to keep him?" He asked and I nodded. He went to pet Savage, but Savage jumped up. I gave him a look and he bowed his head. He walked over to me and laid down with his head on my lap.

"Lets just go to bed." I stated and got up. I laid down in the bed next to Eric. We slowly fell asleep, but before I was in a deep sleep I felt Savage jump up on to the bed.

I woke up to Savage licking my face. "Oh my god Savage! Stop that tickles!" I shouted laughing. Savage barked and jumped off the bed. There was a knock on the door. "Why is everyone knocking lately!" I shouted. Savage barked and I walked over to the door. It was a servant and Savage barked again. "Hush Savage!"

"Miss Kayla, your brother Kaleb is here to see you, I told him to wait in the family room." The servant said and kept his head bowed.

"Okay, thank you. Tell him I will be right down." I replied and the servant nodded. He left and I turned to look at Eric. He still slept soundly on the bed, his hair was messy and looked like a lions mane. I giggled and kissed his head. "Come on Savage." I called as I walked out the door. Savage came running out, then stopped to wait so I could close the door. I closed the door and walked down the stairs to the family room. Savage walked in and growled at Kaleb. Savage looked so scary and Kaleb grew scared. "Savage down!" I commanded, but Savage kept growling. I pet Savage and he calmed down. Kaleb looked at me and looked shocked.

"Kayla, get away from that beast!" He yelled.

"I swear if someone calls my dog a beast one more time." I threatened out loud.

"Sorry, I came here to see what the vampire kingdom was like." He replied and looked away from my eyes. I nodded and looked around.

"Okay, well let me get dressed and I will show you around." I stated and started to walk away. Savage growled at Kaleb again then turned and walked back towards me. We walked up to my room and Eric was asleep. I smiled and shook my head. "I swear he could sleep all day if you let him." I walked over to him and smiled. I messed with his hair and his face twitched. "Eric, wake up." He shook his head and turned over.

"Ten more minutes." He mumbled and started to lightly snore. I smiled and kissed his cheek. I turned and went to my closet. I walked over and pulled a tank top out and some jeans. I went in the bathroom and got dressed. I walked out and looked for Eric's Falling In Reverse hoodie. I put it on and walked over to Savage. "Will you be a good boy if I let you come?" I asked and he nodded.

'Yes master, it was something about that boy though that made me nervous. I was only trying to be protective of you.' A voice sounded in my head and I looked around scared. I looked back at Savage and raised my eyebrow.

"Did you just talk?" I asked and he nodded again.

'Yes, but only you will be able to hear me.' He answered and I looked at him shocked.

"How?" I questioned.

'Simple, your biological father is my original master and he sent me here to protect you.' Savage replied.
