Chapter Fifty Three

~Six months later~

"What do you think Eric?" I asked as I pointed to one of the cribs in the back. He smiled and nodded as we walked towards the crib. It was very simple and since we didn't know the sex of the baby it was perfect for a boy, or a girl.

"We are finding the sex of the baby later." Eric whispered.

"Don't read my mind." I stated and shoved him playfully. He smiled as he put an arm around my waist. I kissed him as a store clerk that had messy black hair and baby blue eyes walked over to us.

"Is this the crib you want?" He asked. Eric nodded and the clerk smiled at the two of us. "Okay, well then let me go get you guys one." The clerk left then came back with a big white box that had a picture of the crib we had chosen on the front. "Here you are, and as I can tell you two are first time parents. So, the crib is on the house."

"Thank you." I said and we shook hands. Eric picked the box up and took it out to a truck that my father had loaned to us for getting all the big things for the baby. We put the crib in the back then Eric helped me into the car.

"Kayla no more heavy lifting, you know the doctor said its not good for you or the baby when you do it." Eric told me as he got in the car. "I know you don't want to feel useless, but it doesn't make you useless when you're pregnant. You get a pass for doing hard work while you have a baby in your stomach, its just common sense." He said as he rubbed my stomach.

"Okay Eric I'll stop doing heavy lifting." I promised and kissed his cheek as he drove us back to the castle. When we got there he ordered servants to take the stuff up to our room. They finished just as my doctor called Eric's father.

"Hey guys, the doctor is on the phone and just told me she has to go out of town so she would like to move your appointment." Lucas told us as we were getting ready to go into the house.

"To when?" Eric asked.

"She wants you guys to be there by two thirty." He replied.

"Okay, tell her we'll be there." Eric said as he ushered me back to the truck. We got in, Eric helped me of course, and started the hour long journey to the doctors. We pulled up to the doctors office and checked in with the receptionist.

"Eric, instead of learning the sex of our baby lets do a gender reveal party." I stated before we went back to the doctors.

(A/n Incase you guys didn't know, a gender reveal party is when you cut into a cake, or break a piñata, and its either blue or pink cake/ confetti.)

"Whatever makes you happy." Eric stated and I smiled at him. We sat there for twenty minutes before we were called back for the sonogram.

"Hello Kayla and Eric, how are you two doing today?" The doctor asked. I was so thankful that my doctor was a female.

"We're doing great. Now I know today we're supposed to learn the sex of the baby, but we would rather do a gender reveal party." I replied. The doctor smiled at me and nodded. Her dark grey eyes were very gentle and her grey frizzy hair was pulled back to show her face. She showed me my baby then it got to the part where she was searching for the gender.

"Okay, close your eyes." She ordered and I covered my face. I heard the woman laugh lightly. "You two can open your eyes now." She told us then handed me the envelope. "Before you guys leave there is something I have been meaning to tell you. Since the child is not human the birth process will be a little quicker than a normal human pregnancy."

"What do you mean by that?" Eric questioned while keeping a firm grip on my hand.

"Well, instead of being nine months Kayla will have the baby near seven months. If she doesn't have the baby by that time, then we will have to put her into labor. For the sake of you and the baby." She explained.

"Okay. Thank you." I said then Eric and I walked out of the room. We got to the car and Eric helped me in again. When we got home a horde of reporters for the vampire world crowded the vampire castle. I was starting to freak out as we pulled in. Eric sensed this and grabbed my hand.

"Do you want me to make them leave?" He asked as he parked the car. I nodded and took deep breaths. He got out and started yelling. People surrounded him and bothered him with questions. He roared in frustration and everyone got quiet. They waited a couple of seconds then started asking questions again. This made Eric even more irritated then before. He walked back to the truck and opened the door. He helped me out of the car then picked me up. I put my face in his neck as he walked up to the castle. One reporter came near and tried to ask me a question. Eric growled at him and I whimpered. We finally got into the castle and Eric ran up to our room with vampire speed. He placed me on the bed then started throwing things to get his anger out. I got up and slowly walked towards him as he threw a lamp at the wall.

"Eric," I whispered and he turned around slowly. I walked over to him and wrapped his arms around him. He put his arms around my waist and kissed my temple. "I need you to keep calm okay." He nodded but kept his head on my hair.

"I'm sorry Kayla, I need to learn how to control myself." He stated and I laughed.

"No need to apologize Eric, I'm not upset." I replied and kissed him on the cheek. "Now we have a baby to prepare for. We got to get this," I showed him the envelope, "To the chef." He nodded and called a servant. They came and got the envelope them took it downstairs to the chef. Eric smiled and kissed my head again as we started to prepare for the baby.

A/N so how was this chapter? I hate to say it, but 'Adopted By Vampires' is close to the end. I know, I know, its sad this is my baby and I'm so sad to see it about to end. But, I am considering doing a sequel. I have updated frequently and efficiently so when I finish this story I will be taking at least a week to a week and a half break. Until the next update.
