Chapter Five

~Eric's POV~

Kayla fell asleep on me. I hated the way she thought about herself. "I think you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen." She stopped breathing and so did I. I thought she was asleep.

"Eric?"

"Yeah."

"Did you just say I am beautiful?"

"Yeah."

"You're so sweet I like you. "She mumbled and fell back asleep. I smiled and pulled the blankets over her. I did not need them since I was a soulless monster, also known as a vampire. I laid my head on her head and slowly fell into a deep sleep. I woke up and Kayla was gone.

"Kayla!" I shouted and shot up out of the bed. I heard her laugh downstairs. I smiled and got dressed into a Pierce the Veil t-shirt and black jeans. I walked downstairs and saw my mother and Kayla sitting at the table.

"What you guys doing?" I asked and made a cup of coffee.

"Oh you know girl talk." My mom said and they giggled again. I looked at them weird. "I was thinking that we could go to the mall today and get Kayla some clothes."

"No, you guys don't have to do that." Kayla said.

"You are a part of this family, so yes we do." My mother stated and smiled at Kayla.

"Yeah, we want you to be comfortable here and we want you to be happy." I said and Kayla blushed. I smiled and felt happy about making her blush.

"Plus you two kids don't have to stay with us the entire time, Jack and I will be dropping you of with some money. He and I have some errands to run." Mrs. Collins said.

"Who is Jack?" Kayla asked.

"My husband." My mother said.

"Oh," Kayla stated and if it was even possible her face got even redder. "What is your name?"

"Anna." My mother explained.

"That is a very pretty name." Kayla said.

"Thank you, how about we get ready to go, Jack we're leaving!" My mother shouted up the steps to their room.

"I'm coming!" My dad yelled and came down the stairs. He had a button up shirt and blue jeans on. "You guys ready?" He asked Kayla and me. I nodded and so did Kayla.

—————————Kayla's POV——————————

We were sitting in the car listening to the radio. Everything was quiet but it wasn't an awkward quiet it was nice and very peaceful. I had time to sit there and think while stealing glances an Eric. He caught me staring at him and I looked away blushing. We got to the mall and Jack and Anna handed us both 100 dollars.

"Spend it wisely and have fun." Jack said and turned to Eric. "We will call you when we are ready to leave." Eric nodded and smiled.

"Come on Kayla," Eric said putting his hand on my back leaving me into the mall. "Where do you want to go first?"

"Hot Topic." I said and looked down realizing I was still in his Falling in Reverse hoodie. "Sorry I never took your hoodie off."

"Kayla, I gave you that hoodie." he said and I smiled.

"Oh right, thanks again." I stated and hugged him. He pulled back after a couple of seconds and grabbed my hand.

"Come on." He said and pulled me into Hot Topic. He looked worried and he kept looking behind us.

"Eric is something wrong?" I asked and he looked at me He smiled and shook his head. "Okay well, I have to go to the bathroom. I will be right back." I walked out of Hot Topic and saw two kids that were about my age.

One was a guy that had blue hair, he also had a couple of tattoos but they were very strange. He had green eyes but they were so bright I could tell they were contacts.

The other was a girl with blond hair and she also had contacts in but they were electric blue. She had more piercings on her face than I had on my entire body. She had three rings on her left eyebrow, she had spider bite piercings and four piercing in each ear. They looked at me like I was something to eat. I felt awkward and turned to walk the other way but the girl was right there when I turned around.

"Where do you think you're going?" She asked. Her eyes reminded me much of a predator when it was ready to pounce on its next meal.

"Get away from her." I heard someone say. I turned to see Eric and relief went through my entire body. I smiled at him and walked over to him. "Are you okay?" He whispered in my ear. I nodded and hid behind him.

"Eric! What are you doing? You know we like to play with our food for at least twenty minutes before we eat it." The guy said.

"Alexzander and Amanda, this is Kayla. My mom and dad just adopted her." Eric stated and looked Amanda in the eyes. Realization crossed her face and she looked at me.

"Sorry about that, my brother and I like to joke around. Don't pay us any mind." Amanda said.

"Well, since you ran into us why don't we hang out for a little?" Alexzander said and winked at me. Eric made a very inhuman noise and I looked at him weirdly. "Sorry didn't know she was already taken." Alexzander said and held his hands up in surrender.

"Yeah, let's hang out. I want to get to know Eric's new sister." Amanda said looping her arm with mine.
