Chapter Fifty Nine

It had been two weeks since we brought home Hayden. I was feeding him a bottle while humming and rocking him to sleep. He had his little hand wrapped around my finger. I was sitting in a rocking chair in front of a fireplace. Eric was in the shower because we had to take turns holding Hayden. Every time we've tried to put Hayden down he started to cry. So we just hold him until he falls asleep. Eric came out of the bathroom, in his night clothes, while he dried his hair.

"Go ahead Kayla! I got him." Eric stated and slowly took Hayden from me so that Hayden wouldn't wake up. I nodded and got up out of the chair. I headed to the bathroom, grabbing my clothes along the way, and started the shower. I got in and let the hot water roll down my back. I knew I was in there for a long time so I got out when my eyes started to close. I dried off, got dressed, then walked out of the bathroom. I went into my bedroom to see Eric asleep in the rocking chair with Hayden on his chest, sound asleep. I smiled at the both of them then went and slowly picked Hayden up. Eric grabbed my wrist hard and his eyes opened. He saw it was me then he let go. "Sorry I thought someone was trying to kidnap Hayden."

"Its okay, let me have him so I can take him into his room." I whispered.

"Why? I want to keep him in here with us so I know for sure that he's safe." Eric whined.

"Okay let me go get the portable crib." I said. I went into Hayden's room and grabbed the play pen.

(A/N if you don't know what a play pen is, it's a miniature crib that you can take everywhere.)

I walked back to our room and set it up by our bed. I walked over to see Eric half awake and half asleep. I smiled at him and grabbed Hayden off of him. I got Hayden's blanket which was a baby blue color and had a little monkey on it then I set Hayden in the play pen. I sighed while I put the blanket over him. I walked back over to the rocking chair to wake Eric up.

"Eric come on, let's get in the bed. We have a long day tomorrow. I think my dad is coming to visit." I stated. He nodded as he got up out of the chair. He walked over to the bed and just plopped down on it. I laughed at him quietly then I walked over so that I could get in the bed. I laid my head down on Eric's chest as he wrapped a protective arm around me. I fell asleep and was so happy that Hayden was a good sleeper. I woke up around five in the morning due to Hayden's crying. I got up and this caused Eric to wake up. "Go back to sleep, I've got him." I told Eric and he nodded. He laid his head back then fell asleep again. I picked Hayden up then walked downstairs. I made him his bottle then went to the sitting room. I put on cartoons while I held him so he could drink his milk. I smiled down at him as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse came on and he started kicking his feet in excitement. I burped him after I fed him and rubbed his back. I turned him around so he could see the TV. I heard someone walking behind me so I turned my head to see Willow. She smiled as she sat beside me with a tired look on her face.

"Good morning Kayla." She said while she patted Hayden's leg. "Good morning baby Hayden."

"Good morning." I answered while yawning.

"What are your plans for today?" She asked.

"I think my dad is coming over with a present for Hayden. Then Eric and I are hoping that we can figure out the Kaleb situation." I explained.

"Where is Eric anyway?" She questioned.

"Sleeping, I am giving him a couple extra hours of sleep." I replied and she nodded. I heard someone walking towards us so I turned around to see Eric. "Eric, what are you doing out of bed?"

"I couldn't stay asleep without you and Hayden." He answered. He sat beside me and rubbed Hayden's head. I smiled at the two of them as Eric kissed Hayden's head. We finished the episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse then Willow got up and walked away.

"We need to go get ready." I told Eric. He huffed then got up. I stood up with him and we went upstairs to our room. I put Hayden in the play pen, but he started to throw a tantrum. I sighed and picked him back up. Eric laughed this caused me to chuckle at Hayden. "Get ready so that I can get ready after you."

"Yes ma'am." He said back and saluted me. I went to kick him, but he ran away before I could.

"You're father is so strange." I told Hayden and he just looked up at me. I smiled at him then shook my head. Eric came back about thirty minutes later. He took Hayden from me and I started to walk away, but Eric slapped my butt before I could leave the room. I turned and gave him a stink eye. He head his hand up in surrender. "If you want to keep your hand, you'll keep it away from my butt." I stated then went into the bathroom to get dressed. I walked out in blue jeans and a Pikachu crop top. I took Hayden from Eric then walked out of the room and down the stairs. Eric followed behind me, when we got down stairs there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find my father.

"Hello dad." I said and pulled my dad into a hug. He smiled then looked down at Hayden.

"Is that him?" He asked. I nodded and smiled at Hayden. Hayden looked up at my dad with curious eyes. "May I?" He asked and held out his hands. I have Hayden to him and my dad smiled down at him. Hayden placed his hand on my father's cheek. My father smiled at Hayden even bigger.

"So how was your journey to the castle?" Eric asked and my dad looked up at Eric with a smile on his face.

"It was quite pleasant." He said then looked back down at Hayden. "Here I'll let your mommy have you back now." He handed Hayden back to me.

"So how long are you planning on staying?" I questioned.

"I actually have to leave right now, but I wanted to give Hayden his gift." He reached into his trench coat and pull out an egg shaped ball.

"That's a nice ball." I said. My father laughed at me.

"Kayla, love. Its an egg." My father explained. I blushed in embarrassment. "It an dragon egg, it will hatch when Hayden turns two." My dad said. "Now I must go." My father said. "On his first birthday put the egg in a fire and leave it there until Hayden is two." My dad stated and handed Eric the egg. Eric went and put it in a safe place. My father left and Eric came back. I heard Hayden yawn and smiled as his eyes started to drop. I went upstairs to put Hayden in his crib when Eric came up behind me. I turned after putting Hayden in his crib. I kissed Eric and we went downstairs to watch a movie. In the middle of the movie a guard ran into the room.

"What is the matter?" Eric asked.

"Its about Kaleb." He stated out of breath. We waited for him to finish. "He's been threatening to kill himself if Kayla doesn't come see him."
