I woke peacefully in my own bed, in same comfortable clothes, and covered up nicely. If I hadn't known better I would have thought this was just another nap. But I sat right up in bed as I remembered my anger and how I had shut down moments before my memory went blank.

I flung my sheets back and away from me. I hit the ground running and screaming out for Bucky. I must've hurt someone, surely I made a fool of myself after trying to prove otherwise. I ran through the halls and into my living room and kitchen and all of the lights were and no one was around.

It was just then that my door open and Bucky walked in seemingly worried, but looking untouched. He held up his hands to me with a worried expression and I just backed away from him.

"Who did I hurt?" I asked loudly. "I blacked out and I don't remember. Who did I hurt?"

"Are you awake?" He asked me and it only upset me more because I wanted answers.

"Yes I'm awake! Bucky I blacked out, tell me what happened!" I demanded loudly.

"Lower your voice it's the middle of the night Valerie." He said closing the door behind him.

I rushed up to him and grabbed the collar of his shirt. I brought his face right up to mine and he didn't even fight back at first. He just looked at me blankly.

"Let go of me, you didn't hurt anyone, but if you don't chill out you just might." He said slowly pushing my hand away from his shirt.

"What do you mean I didn't hurt anyone? I blacked out!" I said confused as I slowly relaxed and released.

"I got you out of there and you didn't really black out in that way, you kind of just fainted." He said stepping away from me.

"Did the others see?" I asked taking a deep breath.

"No." He said and I heard him messing around in the kitchen.

I walked over to the couch and sat down putting my hands over my face to shield myself. I was ashamed of myself and my lack of control. I heard the water run in the kitchen, but it was hardly the first thought on my mind. It was cold at this time of night and it didn't help all the warmth rushed out of me the second I got scared.

"Here." I heard and he was holding out a glass of ice water to me as well as the one in his hand for himself.

I hesitated, but took it nearly feeling the cold liquid drip straight down my throat and into my stomach. I rested my head on my hands as I drank this glass of water. I had a raging headache, but this water was quite nice. Bucky sat down adjacent to me on the couch and I didn't even bother to look at him for fear he'd be judging me.

"For someone who fought it off, I thought you'd be happier." He said sitting back against the couch.

"If Fury would have seen that he would have put me on a ship and had found an air lock to send me out of." I said frustratedly.

"Fair enough." He said nodding.

"Did he make you go through... you know?" I asked him cautiously.

"Not yet." He said looking at me. "In the morning."

"You didn't need to put yourself out there like that." I said in a small voice.

"Who else could?" He said shrugging.

"What if you lose control?" I asked with a cautious eyed.

"One way to find out." We said looking right at me.

"Fury will send you off if he realizes you're a threat." I said shaking my head.

"So you're saying you'd miss me?" He said looking to me.
