- Chapter 65 - My Angel/My Devil -
Warnings: Abuse, blood, injuries, and other stuff lol
Modern/Angel-Devil AU
Third Person POV

A/N, this is another Angel/Devil AU. Basically, there are Soulmates and you get any injuries at all, your Soulmate gets them. It's explained better in the chapter.

Race lifts up his shirt slowly, his face contorted in pain and his eyes squinted slightly as he looks at his back, afraid of what he'd see.

Besides the scars on him, that had almost fully healed, there was a hug cut from his stomach to his hip.

Race gasps, gold blood dripping from the cut.

They're hurt, they're hurt. Was repeating over and over in his head.

Race immediately went into panic mode.

He drops his shirt, letting it fall and cover his injury again, fumbling to grab his phone.

He really should've known there was a bad injury from the pain, but he didn't.

Race quickly calls Jack when he gets his phone.

"Race," Jack starts, exasperated. "We're in the same house, what could you possibly need-"

Tears stream down Race's face. "It's bad." He whispers.

"Oh my God," Jack quickly gets up, his eyes wide. "I tell you everyday to wait for me."

"I forgot..." Jack heard his adoptive brother whisper.

Race crumbled against the counter, trying to keep himself standing up.

Jack quickly hangs up, getting worried as he runs up the stairs.

He quickly enters the bathroom, quickly catching Race as he collapsed, before he hit the ground.

Jack cradles Race against his chest, rocking him softly. "Shh..." he wipes tears off of Race's face. "It's okay, I got you."

Race hiccups, choking back a sob. "What- what's happening to- to them?" He asks quietly, his head rolling to the other side, against Jack's arm.

"I don't know, bud." Jack whispers, an obvious frown on his face. "But I do know that we have to take care of that." He tells him softly.

Race nods, his eyes closing slowly.

"No, no, Race." Jack says sternly. "I can't have you sleeping until I know you're okay." He tells him.

Race slowly forces his eyes open.

Jack quickly presses a button on Race's necklace.

When Race came to his foster, and now adoptive, home, Jack and a few other Newsies, as they called their group, made it their mission to find a picture of his mother.

They did and they put it in a necklace, a necklace they all had, with a button on it.

If you needed help, you pressed the button and it alerted the others.
