"Leave me alone." Davey tried to keep his voice steady and strong, but it was clear he was anxious and scared.

Davey hated confrontation, he always had. Due to this, bullies were not something he could deal with very well, and recently, the Delanceys had decided he was a good target for their tricks.

It had been almost three weeks since they first cornered Davey after school one day, and it was getting harder and harder to hide the fact that they were bullying.

Davey was sure some people - like Jack - were getting suspicious.

Morris raised an eyebrow at Davey, stopping for a moment in front of him.

Oscar sniggered. "Leave me alone," he mocked him. "Wow, that was so threatening, I may go be like JoJo and cry about it." He crossed his arms and smirked at Davey.

Davey clenched his fists. He hated when they talked about his friends. They could mock him all they wanted, and sure, it hurt, but they couldn't talk about his friends. "Stop it. JoJo is just a sensitive soul, and that's a good thing," he told him.

Morris laughed loudly. "Just a sensitive soul?" he questioned. He scoffed out a snicker. "Please, he's a crybaby," he said. "And he's almost as weak as Race," he added.

Davey felt anger flare in him. "Stop talking about them," he told him, trying to be strong and stern. "Race has been through so much, and he's so strong, not just physically."

Morris raised an eyebrow at him.

"Please." Oscar scoffed. "He's almost as weak as you." He grabbed Davey and shoved him into the lockers behind him.

Davey yelled out in pain as his books fell out of his arms, him crashing to the ground after he hit the floor.

Oscar walked towards him, scowling down at him. "Face it, Davey," he mimicked Jack's voice, "you're weak. You, and all of your stupid friends, and even your brother." He spat at him. "You should just pack up and disappear, it's not like anyone would miss you anyways."

Tears stung Davey's eyes as he shakily tried to get up, feeling pain burn through his body.

Morris pushed him back down with his foot, smirking at the cry that left his mouth. "Oscar's right," he started. "You-"

A yell came from the end of the hall, followed by the sound of feet pounding against the floor.

Oscar scowled. "It's Jack," he muttered to his brother.

Morris shook his head, frowning. "I don't want to deal with him right now," he whispered to him. "Let's go." He turned and started sprinting in the opposite direction.

Oscar quickly followed his lead.

"When I find you two, I'm gonna-" Jack slowed down when they ran away, his fists clenched and his teeth gritted. He looked back at Davey and his eyes widened. "Davey!"

Davey carefully lifted his arm to wipe the spit off of his face, cringing at the pain that shot through his chest.

Jack sat down next to him on the ground, frowning. "Oh gosh, Davey..." he mumbled, looking him over.
