Warning: Self Harm
Modern AU
Third Person POVSpot had gone on a work trip for a few days, leaving Race at home alone, and missing Spot.
Race and Spot had gotten together a few months ago, and they lived together now.
Race hated when Spot had to go on work trips, especially when they lasted over a week, like this one.
Spot was supposed to come home in a few days, or so Race thought. That's what Spot had told Race, but Spot had a surprise for Race. He was coming home a few days earlier.
Race sat on their couch, watching whatever was on the TV, not that he really cared or payed attention to what was happening/they were saying, he just missed Spot.
He was wearing one of Spot's sweatshirts, that was definitely too big for him, and he was wearing his sweatpants.
Race had tea in a cup, in his hands, cause he liked tea. Most people didn't know that about Race, though Spot did.
Spot would drink tea with Race, when Race made biscuits or something.
Race's phone buzzed next to him, so he picked it up. He got really excited when he saw the name of who was calling him.
"Hi Spot!" He exclaims, putting the phone to his ear. He hears Spot chuckle on the other side of the phone.
"Heya Racer" Spot greets, and Race grins.
"How are you doing?" Race asks Spot, after taking a sip of his tea, trying to calm himself down.
"Fine, you?" Spot asks, and Race thinks for a minute, before answering.
"I miss you" Race pouts, and Spot chuckles again. He could basically hear Race's pout.
"I'll be back soon. I promise." Spot tells him, and Race nods, even though Spot can't see him, Spot knows he nodded. "Speaking of that, I have a surprise for you."
Race was intrigued.
"Oh?" He questions, and Spot laughs. Spot definitely wasn't telling him something."There should be a package on the front step of our apartment, right outside of the door. Go open it" Spot instructs Race, grinning to himself.
"Aww, I was comfy though" Race mumbles, putting his tea on the table in front of him.
"Be comfy after, kay?" Spot asks, and Race nods.
Race goes and opens the front door of their apartment. Like Spot said, there was a little package waiting for him.
"Got it?" Spot asks him, making sure.
"Yeah" Race answers, and Spot grins, excited to see Race's reaction.
"Open it, and read it out loud" Spot instructs Race, who nods.
Race opens the package, and in it is a little note for him, from Spot?
"Look behind you?" Race reads out loud, and he turns around.
Race drops the phone in shock.
"Spot!" He exclaims, running to hug his boyfriend.Spot chuckles, hugging Race.
"Heya Racer, how are you?""I missed you" Race's voice is muffled from his head being in Spot's shirt. Spot chuckles at him, playing with Race's hair.
They pull away after a few minutes, and Spot plants a soft kiss on Race's lips.
"I missed you too" Spot tells him, and Race smiles.
"I thought you wouldn't be here for a few more days, and how did you even get in?" Race questions, and Spot chuckles.
"The back door. We should really lock it." Spot answers, and they both laugh. Then Spot notices something, and smirks. "Is that my sweatshirt?"
Race holds the sweatshirt around him.
"I missed you" He mumbles, defending himself. Spot chuckles again, before noticing another different thing about Race."Baby?" Spot starts, looking concerned at Race.
"Yeah?" Race asks, rubbing his eyes, not noticing Spot's concern.
"You look tired, and kinda like you've been crying a lot. Have you been sleeping, or crying?" Spot asks, and Race looks at his feet.
"I missed you, and you know why I hate storms" Race explains, whispering a little bit, and Spot sighs, hugging his boyfriend.
"Let me see your arms" Spot tells Race, pulling away. Race sighs, rolling up his sleeves to show marks his nails made in his skin and dried blood.
"I hate how well you know me" Race mumbles, as Spot drags him to the bathroom.
"This is why I usually have Jack or Albert come over when I'm not here and it's storming" Spot mutters, and Race nods, avoiding Spot's gaze.
Spot cleans up Race's arms, despite Race's protests. It takes a few minutes, but he gets them cleaned and bandaged.
"Come on, let's go lay down" Spot tells Race, who doesn't bother argue, he was too tired, and just wanted a hug from his boyfriend.
Spot and Race lay down on the bed, Race leaning against Spot, curled up in a ball, and Spot holding Race.
Spot plays with Race's hair for a few minutes, until he hears soft snores from his boyfriend. Spot chuckled to himself.
Spot knew Race's past. Race hated thunderstorms, cause he's always been scared of them, and when he was littler, he was locked outside during them for being scared.
Spot shook his head, trying to stop thinking about that. Race was safe now, and that's all that mattered.
Spot closes his eyes, a small smile on his face, as well as Race's, as he too slips out of consciousness.
