Request by the lovely Yo_This_Is_Bogus and Spot is 30 in this and Race is 28.Students in their Math honors class slouched in their chair and were taking notes as their teacher, Antonio Higgins, or Race, droned on about whatever they were learning about.
"But don't forget to-" Race starts as he turns to look at his class. He stops. Race laughs a bit. "You all look so defeated. Come on, lighten up a bit." He tells them.
One of the girls in his class, Alexandrea, looks up at him from her seat in the front. "No offense, Mr. Higgins, but we're all bored." She states.
Race chuckles. "I was your age like ten years ago, I get that, kid." He tells her.
"I like Math." A girl in the seat next to Alexandrea, Charlotte, mumbles, looking up from her paper. "It's nice to see it make sense and how it works, all you have to do is remember the formula." She says.
Race smiles.
He liked Charlotte. She had hearing problems, but she was in all honors and did pretty well. (A/N, not me making a character who's exactly like me from my middle name-)
"That's right, Charlotte." Race smiles down at her, nodding. "Math is fun and it's satisfying when you do it correctly." He tells the kids.
He heard multiple groans and scoffs, causing him to chuckle.
He had adopted brothers; he knew kids' reactions to Math wasn't always great and he couldn't really change their minds.
He knew they liked him as a teacher and if they had a favorite subject that wasn't Math, that was okay. He understood that Math was hard and frustrating at points.
"Mr. Higgins!" One of Race's trouble making students, Jonathan, raises his hand excitedly.
Race pretends to sigh exasperatedly. "What is it, Jonathan?" He asks, pretending to be annoyed. He smiles when he hears laughs.
Jonathan crosses his arms. "You know I'm you're favorite student, Sir." He puts his hands under his chin and bats his eyelashes. "Don't try to deny it."
Race chuckles. "Good try, but that answer would make you lose five points on a test." He responds.
Jonathan pouts, before fixing himself. "I dare you to kiss the picture of the founder." He points to the wall where it hung.
Race looks over at the founder of the school's picture. He looks back at Jonathan. "Only if you finish your homework for the rest of the week." He negotiates.
Jonathan's eyes widen. "Sir! That's too much!" He exclaims, looking flabbergasted.
Race deadpans at him. "You can survive finishing your homework for one week out of every week of the school year, Jonathan." He responds, crossing his arms.
Race heard giggles from kids who were listening.
Jonathan glares slightly at him. "You're cruel." He narrows his eyes.
