"Mr. Jacobs."

Davey looked up at his phone, exhausted. He sighed a bit, pressing a button on the school-issued device. "Yes, Laura?"

"There's someone here to see you," the lady informed him.

Davey looked over at his calendar, wondering if he forgot about a meeting. However, there was nothing there. His eyebrows furrowed and he turned back to the phone. "Send them in?"

"Will do, Mr. Jacobs," Laura responded.

Davey sighed, rubbing the temples of his forehead. "Laura, we've worked together for five years and I call you by your first name," he reminded her. "You don't have to call me 'Mr. Jacobs' like the kids do. At least call me Davey or something," he mumbled, exhausted.

Laura hummed. "Maybe." She hung up.

Davey leaned back in his seat. He looked up at the door when it opened.

A head poked into the room. "I bring lunch."

Davey smiled slightly, closing his eyes. "I should've known," he muttered.

Jack chuckled and entered the room. He closed the door and set down the bag he brought on the table, walking over to Davey. He brushed Davey's hair off of his forehead and pressed a gentle kiss to it. "You seem exhausted," Jack mumbled against his skin, closing his eyes in contentment.

Davey blushed a bit. "Hello to you too, Jackie," he mumbled.

Jack chuckled. He pulled over a chair and sat down next to Davey.

Davey opened his eyes. "So... why are you here?" he asked him, watching Jack pull food out of the bag he brought. "You usually warn me when you're dropping by."

Jack shrugged, handing Davey his food. "Because I figured you could use a small break," he answered simply. "And I love you and you love me." He grinned at Davey.

Davey blushed. He sat up, nodding as he took his food. "True, true," he mumbled.

Jack watched him for a moment as he started to open his food.

Davey looked back at him. "What?"

Jack shook his head. "Nothing." He brushed it off. "Ain't a husband allowed to admire his love?" he questioned with a grin.

Davey blushed. He took a bite of his food. "Yeah," he mumbled, his mouth full.

Jack chuckled, starting to open his food. "Your mother taught you better," he commented.

Davey rolled his eyes, using a napkin to wipe his mouth. "You're scolding me?" he questioned.

Jack chuckled. "Fair point." He took a bite of his food.
