With newfound confidence, you sprint to the front lines. Fighting alongside the Dora Milaje is one of the highest honors in your mind. The opposing forces crash against the barrier, but are unsuccessful at infiltrating Wakanda.

You stand behind Cap just taking it all in. Aliens are attacking Earth, your fiancé is off-world, you don't know where your best friend is, and apparently the end is actually coming. People have said for decades that the end is nigh, but everyone's always laughed at them. This time, though, this time it's here.

T'Challa orders the barrier to be opened and the outriders burst through. There are more of them than there are of you. Well, until a crack of lightning rips through the sky, electrocuting the outriders. You'd know that power anywhere. Your soon-to-be brother-in-law... with a raccoon and a tree? Anyway, if he's here, then that means-

"(Y/n)!"

A figure you were worried you would never seen comes barreling through the warriors. You form a sphere of water around the two of you to block out everyone else. His hands go to your waist and yours around his neck. Your lips crash together and your force field of water grows stronger. When you're together it's like the eye of a storm. Chaos surrounding you, but here, in this moment, everything is okay.

"Okay, cute reunion guys, but did you forget we're kind of in a war" Bucky's voice breaks in through the comms.

You roll your eyes and let the water fall. Loki stands with his back to yours on covering the other's 6.

Screams of horror and sobs begin to echo through the battle field. Thick black dust drifts through the air as people disappear. You turn around to see Loki and breathe a sigh of relief to see him still behind you. He wraps you in a tight hug. You bury your face in his shoulder and hold onto him as if you could lose him at any second.

You lose your holding and open your eyes. The shoulder where your head once sat is dust.

"Loki, Loki no, stay with me" you plead.

"It's okay. I'll be back. I always come back"

And those are his last words before the prince of Asgard, god of mischief, and your fiancé is just a pile of dust.

Approaching footsteps make you aware of your surroundings and get in stance to fight. Your eyes meet with the wide ones of Steve Rogers. He looks broken. Worse than you've ever seen him.

"Buck" is all he says.

He sees the dust next to you and his heart breaks a little more. You run to him and cry into his chest. He holds your head close to him. His tears drop onto your head while you both just stand there.

You've lost everything. He was your everything and now he's gone. You were supposed to get married. Steve was supposed to propose to Bucky at the wedding. The four of you were supposed to adopt kids together. Everyone one was supposed to be alive.

But none of that can happen. Your soulmates are gone. Turned to dust at the snap of a finger. Lost to oblivion.
